Paragon grind feels too slow for seasons

Oh we have another low IQ who thinks if he can’t beat the game in a week that it must take three months.

Seriously, tell me you are a bad player without telling me you are a bad player. Because you just did. Twice.

Then they need to stick with single player games and stay away from ARPGS. They dang sure need to stay away from POE2 when that releases because they won’t be beating that game in a few days either.

Im ready for good reading material on the PoE2 fourms. I mean ill play throught it once its fully released but I wasnt found of the first one.

PoE2 will definetly have its niche playerbase like LE but it will fail at capturing a mass audience

Don’t do that. Level up paragon while you do pits for glyphs on alts.

267 is already enough to fill important nodes.

If you don’t love grinding xp, you’re not supposed to hit 300. It’s there for all the people who were complaining about wasting xp when they reached max level.

If it’s important to you and fun, then do it. If not, shutup and do something else.

Why not just cap it at 250 then if 300 is now only for the most extreme players. It shouldn’t require speed farming pits to level paragon. I am 252 currently and its 134 Million experience for 1 paragon level.

250 is not enough to fill the important nodes. Depending on your builds and paragon boards I’d say you need around 265 and that would be an odd cap.

I’m at 250 and I ain’t the highest in my clan. Happy to ignore the score…just play and the XP comes. Plenty of other things to focus on.

I farmed for two weeks straight and I’m constantly out of gold, gem fragments and raw hide, this is my real problem!

2 weeks of the season and I casually play and im 252.

Granted you can get good exp/hr from T1-3 as well so I think this is fair power chase.

I do wish we had extra stuff in the paragon board like side smaller boards with interesting effects that enhance or change our main skills or defenses etc. Something to give a bit more flavor and flexibility to builds. Some might call that bloat or unwanted complexity but it’s a small step to better enjoyment from building stuff yourself instead of loading up guides soon as a season starts.

These nodes and boards would effect what YOU want the build to do for your own playstyle clearly. Not some convoluted mathematics you have to do yourself to see if it will work.

You want heartseeker to be a full AOE spell? Sure do it, but it’ll cost you something or change how its casted.

Want a crushing blow barb to feel like a blood mist surfing necro with earth and fire surfing around? Do it.

Sorc meteor turning into a lightning shower of smaller rocks for more AOE? let it rain.

Plenty of ideas. Just blizz has to stop playing it safe.

I’m hunting for SB gear upgrades as well. I won’t be able to do that if I start with alts before 300. Also I’d like to feel like a boss with my alt starting with 300 para :grinning:

I feel 260-270 range seems to be a good target to fill all the important nodes. Your 265 estimate is really a good one.

When I was at 250, I felt my SB still needs some points. As soon as I hit 260s, I feel like there’s nowhere to go except to just fill in whatever.

250 is barely 15% of the way to 300…

OP is also forgetting that Paragon is account wide now like in D3.

So if you start up another character, you don’t have to grind their Paragon seperately anymore.

It does feel rather slow I will admit, but they would have to be careful with any buffs not to trivialize it completely.

Frankly I’m more upset with the general layout of boards and lack of support nodes where they ought to be, as well as some glyphs still needing reworks (like Mage Warrior and Golem for Necro)

So what if its account wide. Could get myself rushed within hours last season. I could get myself level capped within hours of the season start and then start the gear grind. Now I have been playing for 125+ hours and am barely ~20% into the current paragon grind.

Thats what bothers you? Not that Spiritborn can faceroll 150 pits in minutes while every other class is stuck in the low 100s?

But yes, summon trees are still garbage. Summon glyphs are also garbage. Summon multipliers are also garbage. Consuming corpses, gathering blood orbs, and cursing (wait 4 sec for full effect ) to scale damage isn’t exactly exciting mechanics. Especially with such small buff durations.

I mean… at least I am still progressing in some way with this?

-Cos I be rockin’ and killin’ in tier 4 torment and can’t even get more than one ancestral to drop a lot of times when I do Infernal Horde, etc. Can’t max my aspects, etc. Really just trying to understand how I feel about a lot of this stuff over here. I like rarity but also don’t want to bruise my forehead TOO much against walls. For context-I also don’t participate in 3rd party sites so it’s just whatever I can get to drop over here.

I made sure my character could be jacked enough to tackle everything but I can’t get ancest… well, this sob story has already been told. You definitely need to throw yourself at all the things/activities and then think about how you feel about it all as an overall.

Fortunately for me, LAST season was the one I was hyped for. This one is mixed for me even though I abandoned my favored class to get 100% on board with SpiritChad. Seriously trying to do whatever I can to stay engaged since I still got SpiritChad clan mates enjoying the season.

I bet it does better than LE. I won’t be playing it, however - especially not for a paid early release, rofl. I wasn’t a fan of the first game.

Segment Time in h Total Time end of segment
1-60 3 3
1-100 4 7
100-200 8 15
200-250 15 30
250-275 15 45
270-300 45 90
Total 90 90

This is why they are allowing paragon to be across all characters.
Realistically, there will not be that many who push to 300.

And here is the xp breakdown:

Paragon Level Required Experience %
100 119,104,713 0.48%
200 859,486,584 3.47%
300 24,778,251,301 100.00%

As you can see getting to 200 is just 3.47% of the total exp needed for Paragon. The real brunt of the grind come in that last 100 levels. And that escalated even further for the last 25 levels. Most will not bother with it.
I am about to hit 270 and it’s kind of numbing. Luckily, I’m just using my evade build to run T70 in under 2 min while listening to Spotify. I’m not much in the way of maximizing the speed of my xp grind so I think this is good.

:man_shrugging:

I just want to do it once and never again lol.

This info is from Rob2628 btw.

I think paragon levels / xp is fine. it’s 3 month season, got 10+ weeks left to go, and lot of people are already paragon 220 or 240+

I think most ppl who want to get to 275+ will get there, and the last 25 pts hardly matter for anything. Got LOTS AND LOTS of complaints about this season such as bugged/broken Spiritborn, too weak Barb/Druid/Sorc/Necro/Rogue, but the paragon xp is not a problem IMO

This is based on what assumptions? xp per hour?

Even getting to 200 takes 2 to 3x longer than last season…
