Out of touch or?

Hey we nerfed exp gains into the ground a month ago, we hope you forgot about it, anyhow here is a +25% for the weekend cause we play this game too and love our community.

FYI we were jk’ing about the previous nerfs pls forgive us & come back?

So you’re saying they shouldn’t give 25% more XP over the holiday weekend? FWIW the density increase from said nerf patch was also a net XP gain per hour.

Lol 25%… weak. Barely a gain over pre nerf numbers vs monster levels. I’m sure its for Starfield launch and not Labor Day

Debatable

I can’t wait, that means I can get 2.5 levels for playing most of both evenings that weekend instead of going outside and enjoying what’s left of the summertime ^^

It wasn’t in the nerf patch, the density change came later and I’m not sure about a “net XP gain” but it is similar. It could be a net gain though. I made level 100 in about a month on 1 character pre-season. In season, I have a character to 81 (Rogue, first character) a necromancer that’s like 72 or something, and another Necromancer (the third character that’s become my main at 93 about half a quarter section from 94, so yeah, it could be a net gain or it could be that that month preseason, I learned more about the game and became a little more efficient in the leveling process.

Isn’t the Starfield headstart? Ok, joke aside.

Kinda doubt that this will entice many people to come back and play honestly, but I kinda have the feeling this “amazing” event is going to backfire a lot, especially when the occultist decides to take an extra 25% too

Problem is I would say 90-95% of the gold we get is from selling items, not from picking up. Maybe that stat isn’t in their excel sheet of analytical data they live in.

The buff is useless & I’m sure the Oculist will take her cut

Huh?? I remember XP buffs in addition to almost doubling density, not nerfs. Please provide link to those notes you’re referring to?

You are right on this one. It’s most likely just affecting the gold piles directly and less the items.
Hail greed shrines or something then lol

Not happy with any thing are ya? Having a bad day and felt spewing venom was the way to go huh?

  • We are adjusting bonus experience rewards for killing monsters that are a higher Level than the player.
    • Pre-Season of the Malignant bonuses:
      • 1 Level higher: +15%.
      • 2 Levels higher: +20%.
      • 3+ Levels higher: +25%.
    • Post-Season of the Malignant:
      • 1.5% bonus per Level up to 10 Levels.
        • Ex:
          • +1 level: +1.5%.
          • +2 levels: +3%.
          • +10 levels: +15%.

Happy with plenty. But tossing bread crumbs after being body slammed is pretty insulting.

It’s almost like nerfing classes into the absolute abyss and then tossing those 1% buff to this, 2% increase to this. Wait they did that also. Having a bad day and felt like settling for mediocracy was the way to go huh?

you kinda missed the most important part after copying part of it:

We are also adjusting experience rewards for monster Level offsets for higher World Tiers.
Current World Tier Level offsets
World Tier II: Up to +3.
World Tier III: Up to +10.
World Tier IV: Up to +100.
We are changing this to
World Tier II: Up to +3 (Unchanged).
World Tier III: Up to +6.
World Tier IV: Up to +10.
For Example:
You are Level 1. Your friends bring you to World Tier IV and leave you at the entrance of a dungeon. They start killing Level 100 monsters.
Prior to Season of the Malignant, you get:
(Level 100 Monster XP) * (1 + 25%)
After Season of the Malignant, you get:
(Level 11 Monster XP) * (1 + 15%)

The multiplicative reduction is one thing, but gutting the base xp with a max +10 monster lvl is a lot harsher.

Ah right, it was a nerf to power leveling, which was a stupid idea (the nerf was), but none the less not a nerf to overall XP or jusify saying “into the ground”. You also left out the fact that they doubled density in NM dungeons and helltides.

Thank you for catching, just got a quick grab of it.

No - power leveling was slammed sure, but overall EXP gains were reduced across the board for everyone.

No one is leveling in Helltides, I assure you, unless they are completely oblivious. As thats a +3 level difference and is not worth while.

And doubled the density in NM dungeons, you reduced the quality of my kills and supplemented it with quantity, is it better? Doubtful still.

Hard pass. People still in the midst of BG3,Armored Core VI, and Starfield in 8 days. Handful of good games to put my time into…the decent into mediocrity for D4 continues…

That’s just an excuse by Blizz, over all it increased leveling time for everyone. Due to this change it made it pointless to even kill anything more than 10 lvls above yours.
To explain it further. You are lvl 90 and you speed run T76, which would be lvl 130 monsters. Those lvl 130 monsters provide the base xp like a lvl 100 monster from a T46.
No reward for the risk!

That’s the thing. Blizzard is half-baked in their patches. They nerf without a remedy. They tip the scale and wonder why people are mad. If they had reduced the xp gain, but increased the density in the same patch, people would have complained less.
They took their sweet time to balance it out again.

Wow, the spite… lots of it.

Ya, you’re right, I guess I just haven’t noticed that big of a difference. Then again, I’ve never pushed 40 levels above me, 25 above me is where I normally stop.

Agreed.

And there you would have the perfect solution. If their goal would have been to gut power leveling of alts, then the first question they would have to ask themself: “What is the most likely highest level anyone would run to acquire xp fast?” and on top of that add a few levels, cause you always have someone who goes beyond
xp scaling up to +30 levels of your own, would slow down power leveling, but wouldn’t hurt people grinding out the last few levels till 100.
Best of both worlds and no1 would have even needed the density asap. Some might have been slightly salty by the +15% vs +25% xp multiplier, but far away from the reaction they got
