Old-time Diablo player, I am struggling to finish the campaign

While I can understand this if D3 was the first game in the series you played.

Most D2 players I know hated D3 (at launch) and did not want this game to be anything like it. So for someone like me, I am glad they did something “else”.

I did not have any expectations for this after D3 turned me off. But I am liking D4.
Is it D2? No. Does it need to be? No.

I think so too.
But the campaign was “nice”. Not “great” or even “epic”. But just “nice”.

It totally missed some twist. Like Elias is actually Diablo and using Lilith against Mephisto. Or that girl comes out as “anyone surprising”.

But then again, i never gave much about the storys of Diablo games. The chase after items is it whats fun about these games. (well, at least the first 3)

I never repeat the story mode in this game in all my life.
Repeating altars and discover all zone more make me psychological hurt

This applies to a majority of us it seems.

Yea its called eploring and reward. They are so easy to get stop being lazy. We dont want an arcade game go back to wow or d3 arcade games

In d2 level 100 wasn’t ever the target. It was the journey that mattered.

Why in d4 lvl 100 is the target? They have completely failed to grasp the essence of what made diablo great. I guess we wont ever have that game spirit of old.

Good for us though, some companies still try to keep it alive. Lariat is great with bg3. I hope cdpr learned with cyberpunk and return to their witcher 3 roots aswell

Im sorry but i know your type and i wont get into a conversation with you. Enjoy the game. Others dont.

This was my exact logic for avoiding EA with this game. Given how much I love DOS2, I would rather wait and enjoy it.

Another d3/diablo immortal clown. See ya kid

Sounds like a personal problem.

What to expect from season 1:

Some new affixes
Some new uniques
tweaked abilities
cosmetic carrots
maybe a new world boss
tweaked paragon boards
short story quest
buffed xp

I mean its that simple. You are still playing D4. If you don’t like the base game season 1 will probably not change much.

Those of us that do will have a bit more to enjoy.

Gotta keep expectations low for all games imo. For instance when I played the D4 beta I knew exactly what I was getting into, exact same game as beta but with a few more:

-legendary gear
-uniques
-higher version of items
-a few basic post campaign loops
-full talent tree achievable
-paragon board
-bigger numbers
-harder dungeons with some affixes

That is exactly what we got. I found the beta fun, if even basic, but it was a good enough time to cover my money.

I suggest tempering expectations especially when you have access to 3 demos of the game.

10mil sold because of the name and nothing else.

Yea sorry show me proof everyones quit or just go play your arcade games.

Why are you here then. If you dont like it go. They are not going to change the game cause you whine on their forums. Your the Ex that wont leave

At its core that is what ALL arpgs are, even POE. I’m good with that as long as they aren’t p2w.

Funny how you preordered and paid extra for a game that you don’t like. To get early access means you had access to beta 1, 2 and slam. Maybe I can get you to hate me so you can start sending me all your cash.

The campaign is definitely one off the greatest assets the game has to offer. Including several of the sidequests and strongholds. Looking forward to complete it soon and maybe start over with a different char. It comes together organically and is motivating. Hoping for more seasonal quests.
