Official community suggestion box (vote)

There are more than a few discussions started that are just lists of grievances some players have with gameplay. Blizzard is not short of clever and dedicated team members, but surveying enough people to accurately assess opinions about the game must take up a significant amount of effort. Might it be a useful feature on both sides (players & developers) to have an official means of players submitting ideas and voting some selection from that list for Blizzard’s consideration? Could that be done in a way that would engage the average or at least the invested player? Or is managing such a community tool effectively more trouble than reading what people say online? I won’t list my suggestions because someone else has already done it.

Bingo. Blizzard is after feedback, not ideas how to make the game into what other players want. As you’ve seen there are quite literally hundreds to thousands of ideas on this forum alone for various changes to systems. Not to mention twitter, Reddit, YouTube, etc.

So Blizzard looks more at what players like, what they don’t like, why they do/dont, what systems are being used the most, which ones are forgotten, etc. They also send out surveys to random players about the game. I’ve received about 5 of them myself (not including the beta ones) since launch.

Now if you want your ideas to be implemented into the game, you’d have much better luck getting everyone with ideas together, making a kickstarter and creating your own game. Short of that the majority of ideas given will never be implemented into this game.

Doesn’t mean we won’t see some much needed QoL features that the devs have talked about of course, but Lilith only knows when those will be coming.

But I mean wouldn’t it make sense to have some sort of tool that would engage the average player, rather than a selected ones or those who are frustrated or curious enough to find their way here? Aside from the utility as far as gathering feedback, maybe players would find further anticipation for the game in looking forward to a specific feature of interest being added or altered. I’ve heard some ideas of others that I think are reasonable to try implementing and would like to find a better means of showing support to them than one more ranting list on a forum.

Mainly, I just wonder if more people could take part in feedback in a way that would be feasible for the Blizzard team.

They already said no.

Petition posts are frowned upon.

“These are discussion forums, so we ask that you hold discussions. Creating a thread to ask for replies as votes is not a discussion. Threads violating this guideline are subject to removal and users found to be inciting boycotts will risk forum account suspension.”

They already send out surveys to selected players which we cannot discuss. They have also provided a VoH sub-forum which would clear up some of the clutter on this forum but most people do not use it. If players cannot even follow basic instructions why should Blizzard brother with another system for “feedback.”
