Oculus needs to be changed

can you guys just take the random part of oculus off like you can even give it a little bit of a nerf just let it give us teleport enchant for free without making teleport enchant useless completely… if you want to make a teleport sorc you cant because this item ruins the build and its tech the bis item.

-Agree that random location should go away. It’s not exactly an OP item so let’s get rid of whatever FEAR Blizzard has towards sorc having fun.

-NO it does not need a nerf for the exchange. They just nerfed teleport cooldown as is and the change is just RUDE, to me.

All that being said: I am currently playing an oculus-andariel mostly made up set up and it is all kinds of fun. Oculus: even as is: can be fantastic but it is very build dependent.

No. Just because you dont like the random teleport doesnt mean everyone else feels the same.

There is already an aspect to get the functionality you want: metamorph.

Also note that blizzard will not allow infinite directional long range teleports because it gives an unfair advantage in speed runs. Though i believe the new class in s6 will have exactly this with unique boots for their specific class

metamorph. does not fix the issue as if I use it I no longer teleport. I am trying to build around teleport as a dmg. source and with metamorph it wouldn’t do any dmg.

Def not the same if trying to play Teleport build for dmg. It completely overrides it and just uses the evade charges which is kind of pointless.

A problem with Occy that others have pointed out is that there is no consistent strategy.

Legacy Occy is or was a way to evade enemies. In a tight jam? No problem. Evade. People love occy for pvp and legacy nmds. The weak point with legacy occy was that the damage sucks.

Now in S5 they added in some damage with INT but the other damage affixes dont synergize with any build. This has nothing to do with the random teleport, and everything to do with poor design of the other damage affixes and or just lack of aspects that would synergize eith occy

Just adding the fact spiritborn has scorn of the earth giving it a skill as an evade AND they are boots with no side effects completely negates their entire “kiss/curse” bs (which seems to only apply to the sorc class) they used to justify the random aspect on oculus.

You are simply incorrect. Occy is nowhere good enough to justify a downside.

Or better yet, add a second unique focus that functions as a second teleport unique, with the added effect of removing occys “weakness”

Bro the occulus he was referring to was like season 3, and it was really good back then.

Oculus needs to add either a damage increase or some sort of non teleport related plus. I love the mobility it gives my Sorceress but it is underpowered for later in the game. In addition, if you use Metamorphosis its evade modification no longer takes you to a random location and if you get a fairly high level of Metamorphosis and put it in an amulet the cooldown time is imminently manageable.

I wanted to try a teleport build out just to see what kind of damage I could push out and guess what? Oculus is bugged. I’m more disapointed in myself for even trying to do something fun or creative in diablo but I had hope and charged on. When I got to 60 and started putting the gear together, went to the blacksmith and masterworking doesn’t affect teleport ranks… again… only if you hit it on the forth, this bug was fixed in season 5. Diablo is like Mac Donald ice cream machine.
