There needs to be an increased allowance in network latency/loss. I’m on a video call and experience no disruption, but Diablo 4 can’t seem to handle it. Diablo 2 remake has the same issue, I can’t play it, due to whatever poor connectivity management is being leveraged. Other very popular ARPGs manage these connectivity challenges without issue.
Maybe try getting real internet connection ? ![]()
Maybe he lives in bumblefck and starlink is his only option?
Then he should probably get a job and move to New York indtead of playing Diablo with laggy internet. ![]()
This is what happens when you use a pie plate to connect to space-net.
Literally a you problem and not something that is under Blizzard’s control.
Sucks that the people here are unhelpful jackasses…
I’m playing on Starlink and it’s also really bad for me. My latency is very low and I don’t have problem with any other high-bandwidth applications. I’m going to try to disable crossplay as I’ve heard that should improve performance.
Starlink is trash in all online games. How do I know? I had that expensive piece of trash and I’m happy I was able to get a 5G Home Internet from Verizon at half the cost and 5 times the speed.
You’re always going to have some problems with satellite and gaming, it’s the nature of the beast.
Starlink is a vast improvement but you’re still looking at around 3.5-4x the latency of a land based internet
The fact is the data has to travel an extra 600-700 miles each way
Hey man, I am on Comcast and have a 1 gig speed internet with great pings, but I still get rubber banding and lag. I think they just have bugs they need to work out. Not saying you shouldn’t complain about it, but just letting you know even with fiber it isn’t great.
I don’t know why some people are getting those things and some aren’t, I have had zero rubberbanding and a steady 70ish ping since launch
Man, that sucks. My dream is to get an RV and just travel all the time with starlink and play Diablo.
better off with wireless mobile internet
I play with my buddy on starlink and he doesn’t have any issues. Trying to be helpful here, but maybe it’s an issue on your end. Check your modem, router, cables, network card. A good starting place is just running pingplotter and doing a trace route on google.com and see what hop you are getting packet loss at. If it’s really early in the trace route, it’s probably on your end.
Video calls do not need millisecond correction on hits
they can run fine on 1s lag delay
To put it more percisely
Best for gaming 5ms
Average for gaming 60ms
International Servers 120ms
Video calls without issue 500 ms
How dare you, I didn’t become part of this community to see people “helping each other” I came to complain about the game, it’s devs, and the community!
I’ve been there with trying to diagnose pocket loss man, it’s no joke. Last time it was the ethernet cable between my modem and router. Figure if I can save one person some anguish maybe I’ll put some good karma out there.
All the smart players quit playing this game and left these forums. I quit the game weeks ago, but need to get some value out of my $100 forum access membership. Enjoy the game, only the shills are left playing Lilith 1.
I was there the other day
I rarely experience any latency issues. But do live quite close to a huge hub…
Lol trying to game online with satellite internet has never been ideal for any game… why would D4 be any different?
