it is never a fair Pit map after all. and there is no official Pit leaderboard. even if they had it, players would still fish for maps and bosses to climb.
so the devs need to consider removing these constraints and let players maximize their capability to adjust the Pit gameplay on the go.
and what’s wrong with players with better APM (action per minute)? if a player has the speed, agility, and multitasking abilities to play the game up to their taste, then allow it.
i myself would appreciate the swap of a 2-handed staff, probably imprinted with the Aspect of Elemental Constellation, to deliver ICBM kind of damage to a pit boss, while clearing monster mobs with a fast wand.
Is APM even a thing in D4? Does it have any impact at all. There are plenty of builds that only use one skill and then there are others where you can simply macro all of your abilities onto one button and then mash that button. I can see it meaning something for movement if use the mouse for that, but plenty of people use control are WASD movement, and it wouldn’t matter there.
risking getting banned once they detect such activity. the EULA allows privilege to their program to check the running processes on our system, you know.
No one is getting banned for making macros. That’s not happening. They’re not going to ban me because my mouse software is running in the background either. You know nothing, SageBright.
“No point to lock gears, skills and paragon in The Pit”
There most certainly is but it’s not to benefit players. You have to get it in your head these guys do not view D4 as a game.
This is what they sit around and think about:
You have X number of hours to play games per week. If they use these types of gimmicks to use up 75% of those hours then it is more likely you will spend your disposable income on D4 pixels than another game. To them it makes perfect sense.
For a player that considers it a game for actual entertainment and a little break from daily routine this is very frustrating. Something marketing metrics rarely show and why we get these “WTF are they thinking” moments all too often.
i am using logitech mx keys and mx master 3, with logioptions .exe and several others running in the background. i know mine can set up macros, but i didn’t do it.
if d4’s sentry program detects those .exes and sees you pressing one key to activate several skills, chances are you are already on their watchlist.
edit: plus their program can periodically sample screen shot players gameplay back to their auditing repository, they will have firm proof to ban EULA offenders.
It’s not dislike. It is disappointment at what we call a game has become.
I have been in management for a large company and this is exactly what they do. You can bury your head in the sand and convince yourself that it is something other than a marketing ploy by your words. I know better.
This ruins it for me. If you like to play it is your choice no matter what anyone knows or believes. You do you.
uh, id be very very careful with such claims. The blizzard warden for sure scans for background programs, and macros in particular are pretty easy to detect actually.
we see these “i got banned for nothing” threads, often enough. Now, of course i cant tell if a macro is involved in these situations, but it is against the ToS, and thus bannable.
At the end of the day, your account = your responsibility, so do whatever you think suits you. I just wouldnt tell anyone that they for 100% dont ban these offenses.
I for example, am technically using a macro as well. The RB key of my xbox elite is broken, so i had to remap it to one of the backpaddles. Personally i think thats fine, as its still 1 button press = 1 action.
Any macro I theoretically might use would also be one button press = one action. Tbh, I think it’s pretty stupid to be worried about macros. How is a macro any different then some guy smashing five keys at the same time to keep all his abilities on CD? I’ve done that before.
That being said, my MMO mouse has all the buttons I need, and they’re right next to my right thumb. No macros needed. I only brought it up because someone brought up APM, and I wanted to know if APM is even a thing with Diablo 4.
The trouble starts when one button press leads to multiple actions being used automatically. Now, i cant say that for 100% but thats how id rate it after years of wow and diablo.
well, in theory it gives you an advantage over people not doing that. Now personally i dont see a huge deal behind that either. But its their rules, so we either follow them, or dont do so at our own risk.
oh damn, one of these mouses with like 134144324123 keys on the side? a friend who sadly sufferes from multiple sclerosis uses one of those and they look complicated as hell ^^
I used to use a Logitech G600, which was the best MMO gaming mouse ever, but it broke after many years of use, and it turns out that Logitech doesn’t make that mouse anymore. Right now, I’m using some Red Dragon thing, but I’m thinking about switching to a Razer Naga. Two of the people in my regular group use Xbox Elite controllers and make good use of the back buttons for the same effect.
honestly, mouses are the only thing i trust logitech to do at all. I had crappy experiences with their headsets and keyboards, but yea, im using my G502 since SO many years by now, its almost ridiculous. Still doesnt look like itll give up anytime soon. for sure one of the most cost efficient hardware i ever purchased id say.
yea the controller is great, but it can as i mentioned develop problems with their shoulder buttons. Tried multiple fixes but nothing. Not getting a new one as they are too expensive to be replaced after 2 years in my opinion.
