NO M&K Support on Console BIG MISTAKE!

not only those spells. we have the target leap from the rogue that is basically useless on controller. simple plain, useless
What I can see happening is controller players being restricted to play some builds or gamestyles… shame on the devs

Yea you cant properly play a good amount of builds with a controller and play it well. Its pretty sad to be honest. Cant believe they’ll release this game as it feels incomplete without nouse and keyboard support on console. I already refunded my preorder personally and will be getting it if/when i get a PC

Ive done the same. did preorder from gamestop a physical copy and cancelled on the early access, only based on the mouse/keyboard missing thing. I hope they add this and I will get it to ps5 again

I also cancelled my order of PS5 order.
As they already made on PC flawless real time switching between controller and KBM, they should be able to make KBM work on console.
I have from D2 to D3 expansion all collector edition and probably no more Blizzard games. Sadly but true Blizzard is no longer the Blizzard.

Hopefully the devs respond to this soon. I personally do not plan on pre-ordering yet. I’m sure they have preorder numbers before and after beta, unfortunately this is almost a deal breaker.

Console needs precise teleport, leap, hydras etc… It’s that simple.
I won’t be getting any console version unless they implement K&M support in it.

Some skills feel better with a mouse and keyboard. The controller feels good to use but the option for mouse and keyboard would be nice. More options are better

It’s hilarious how console players think they have it so bad this go around but with no WASD movement on PC.

Meanwhile PC players have been praising controller because Diablo actually made the game with controller in mind.

PoE feels great with controller as well especially when it comes to looting but menu’s are definitely better to navigate with M&K.

If youve played with a controller as much as we had, and you dont care about not being able to target who to shadowstep without sitting there tabbing through the initial 15 mobs around you to get to the back line, or teleporting/dashing/trampling to a crate on your left or right instead of pointed direction then youre just about as casual as it gets and most of us here take the game a bit more serious and would like to play the game with the skills the way it was intended.

‘most of us here take the game a bit more serious and would like to play the game with the skills the way it was intended.’

Real console gamers don’t think like this, a competitive console gamer doesn’t believe he needs a keyboard and mouse to get good or he would have just invested in a PC.

Indeed, a competitive console gamer only believes one needs to aim targeted skills, you know, to the target…

The real questions we should be asking are:

How this was not a concern until a couple of months before launch? Did blizzard not playtest the game on console at all?

If an issue that directly makes console players weaker compared to PC ones on a game where cross-platform play is advertised as one of its prominent features is not accounted for, what does this imply for Blizzard (lack of) support for the console version of d4 at all?

Why console players should not be able to play with some builds and skills properly?

Personally, I’d prefer a cursor added to the right stick (which does close to nothing currently) instead of m&k, but if the devs aren’t able to implement that (which would be utterly shocking since even D:I has this exact feature for god’s sake), the bare minimum console players should get until they figure out a way for us to aim using a controller is implement m&k support.

It also baffles me that the cursor is already ingame on console when navigating the skill tree but it’s not available for anything else, let alone combat.

How does this happened? Devs have consoles right? Well, maybe the ones who do play melee I guess… lmao

On a side note for people who might bring up the argument that D3 also didn’t have a cursor on console: D3 doesn’t have cross-platform play, so competitive gaming between console and PC is non-existent, thus leveling the playing field separately for console and PC players, which is NOT the case for D4.

we hope that final version they fix this trouble because use keyboard and mouse is the essential of DIABLO

Very well put. The outcry over the lack of input support on D4 is actually relevant due to cross play. I personally played D3 on PC but that was ages ago. But i did purchase D2R on my ps5 and yes the controls werent the greatest for the same reasons as D4. BUT. There was no crossplay! So we were all playing with the same handicap which was fine to an extent.

Some people just dont understand that purchasing a gaming PC for playing one game properly is not practical.

Absolutely 10000%.

Loved the beta but without mouse and keyboard entire builds will simply be unolayable.

If this is anything like other Diablo games, survivability in late game will depend a lot more on mobility than HP/regen/armour/dodge etc.

Entire build centered on akills like Leap or Teleport will fail on console.

And of course we have other examples, like Hydra. Even casting chain lightning was difficult at times because it was next to impossible to hit the right target.

Overall, the lack of targeting will make a lot of builds simply not viable on console. And that would be such a shame.

Frankly, if m+k support on console is not added or GFN won’t have D4 (Activision deal going through or for whatever other reason), with a heavy heart but I won’t get the game to avoid all the frustration.

Certainly won’t buy a gaming rack when owning a Series X plus a good laptop (but not good enough it seems becuase of the manufacturer’s drivers not being recognized by D4).

Not sure where you heard that tbf…

I played with both. D1, D1HF, D2, D3 on PC and D4 on Xbox.

Controller is always at a disadvantage, in all the things that matter. I was afraid of this, and I thought that maybe melee classes will play better on controller. I was wrong, it’s only marginally better and it doesn’t make up for the disadvantages.

Mouse aiming is far more accurate and faster.

M+k “sacrifice” a single skill (direction of movement is automatically target direction) while controller sacrifices at least 4.

Moving and Aiming (m+k) in opposite directions is bounds and leaps over what one can do with a controller.

Even mundane things like browsing via your inventory or trying to compare multiple items with what you have equipped is a pain with a controller.

Theyre doing a ‘deep dive’ into the beta with player concerns next month. Lets hope they address this. Then we’ll know if they are gonna ignore console’s big concern or not.

I can’t even see the details of the status above skill slots with controller. There’s no hover functionality. Please add keyboard mouse support. I only have mac and xbox.

I played the early access beta as a melee rogue, and my fingers were hurting. However, today I started playing as a necromancer, and it’s much easier to control. I suppose some classes like rogue require more precise control, and a mouse and keyboard are perfect for this. I really enjoy playing as a rogue and would like to continue, so I would support the inclusion of mouse and keyboard support on consoles

+1 for keyboard and mouse support!

I disagree, if they decided to make D4 a PC exclusive, then ok buy a PC if you want to play it. Just like you need to buy a PS5/XBox for the console exclusives. If they make it multiplatform AND crossplayable, then they also need to make it equally playable on all platforms. Why would you make the game playable on a PC with a controller but not on a console with MKB? When it comes to hardware, they’re basically the same…
