Just as the title states my friends list is blank and my clan list is blank. Uninstalled the game and reinstalled did not work. Cannot play with any friends…really annoying.
Same problem here too. I have tried cycling the Xbox, logging out of Battlenet and Microsoft apps, and toggling cross play loading game and then toggling it back and loading game again nothing’s working. At this point I’m pretty convinced this is a Blizzard Microsoft problem. My PC friends are not impacted but other console friends are.
So sorry this is happening to you, but glad to know I’m not the only one. At least I can stop troubleshooting now. I have all of the issues you both mentioned and did everything Xbox recommended to fix it.
I started with slow loading friends list, then no loading at all. Oddly, my favorited friends were showing just fine.
The problem got worse. I had friends with no names trying to whisper me. If the whisper went through, I couldn’t respond. I’ve been using battlenet app to communicate since Tuesday.
I had a friend with 2 spots on my list, deleted them, he added me back, seemed to fix it. So I deleted all the “corrupt” friends, they added me back, it looks good, for now. Will see how it is when I log in later.
From Google reading, two things happened during my update that could have caused it. I was set to offline, and I had a pending friends request.
It’s happening to me as well on an Xbox Series X. My friends list and clan roster are both empty when I log in. If I leave the game running for about 45 minutes, around 6–7 friends eventually appear, but it’s still inconsistent. I also don’t receive messages from friends, even when they can see that I’m online. I’m starting to wonder if we’ll have to wait for a patch to fix it.
Update to the weird friends list:
I was able to group with a friend who wasn’t showing up at all in game. Battlenet app was fine. He invited me to party and we could play together. About 20mins in, he finally showed up on my list.
I’m also having issues with voice chat in party. Any headset with a mic doesn’t work. But some old ear buds with a built in mic work. I’ve tried 2 headsets, one of which were brand new and the game just doesn’t register the mic.
Just noticed similar behavior today after another Xbox friend of mine pointed it out. It’s just my guess, but it seems like there’s a very significant delay between battlenet and the Xbox live network. Does anyone know how to get the attention of the moderators or admins to bring attention to the reports here?
I’ve noticed that within a few minutes of being online, the friend list gradually appears to populate, but there are some people that are online that don’t show up in the friends list, even after several minutes. I can see them online via the battle.net app, for example - but they don’t appear in the friends list in game on the console. I don’t have the game on other platforms to confirm how it might behave there, but from talking to friends who play on other platforms (PlayStation, for example), it doesn’t seem like other platforms are affected, or at the very least, aren’t affected to the same extent.
I was told in my bug ticket with Blizzard that nothing could be done unless I saw an error code they could work with.
After hours of troubleshooting I realised this bug only happens if they’re already online. Anyone new who logs in or logs into their mobile Battle.net app after you’re online, you’ll be able to see.
Still.. it needs to be fixed ASAP
I’m having this issue as well, glad I’m not alone, but also annoyed that we have to deal with it in the first place. Some friends show up, while others remain “offline” even though I know they’re playing (PC). This is really frustrating. I want to play this season, but it’s making it difficult for me to play in my clan/friend parties. ![]()
Same issue here, friends log in as a blank faceless symbol with no name, and maybe later it will catch up who it actually is. Clan page shows my clan leader offline for nore than a month while playing in a party with him. Updated after a long time playing but the next day its back to the same troubles. At least he can join me and we can still party up.
I’ve been telling others to just join my party or msg through Discord
having same issue as well here, i am on xbox series x
i am also getting this on xbox, my clan list is empty but as people come online after me they show up, clan chat is also bugged.
i also play diablo 4 on my steam deck and this is working fine with no issues, so defiantly an xbox problem in my case.
any updates from blizzard?
Hey !
What about the party list, is always empty
I have everything enabled, blizzard account , console, etc , still canțt find parties
of course not. that would be helpful to players
Update: after all the updates, my friends list is still taking an hour to populate correctly. However, the sound issues I had in party (friends couldn’t hear me) have been fixed. The latest patch did something so I can use a headset again. I’m not troubleshooting this issue anymore because I don’t think it will be fixable until s15 update.
same for me…. glad to hear it’s not just me…. I couldn’t find anything with previous searches
I’m having the same problem, too!
From the character select screen, I went into the connection settings and unchecked crossplay and all of those settings at the top.
Then I went into the game.
Then I pressed the xbox button and restarted my xbox.
At the character select screen, I went back into the settings and checked all that stuff again.
Restarted xbox again
went into the game and it seems to be working again. Maybe it’s a fluke…. we’ll see lol
