Uhm sadly not because itās Blizz job to come up with the lore ^^. I get it for real a lot of people like asian style weapons and armor and stuff and most likely want their favorite anime incorperated in every game they play and see fit.
Diablo was always a western stiled game so Iām not sure if the devs want to open up to eastern themes. there is a lot of very intresting stuff out there Iād like to see ingame but I donāt think it will happen or even should happen.
If there is a new class coming hopefully it ties into the Horadrim. Since Lorath is a knight class who uses spears there could be the tie in which fills the plate / spear role. There was also unique stuff about Witch Doctor that separated itself from necromancer that could be a stand out class.
The holy take on a javazon looks like the new paladin type class, but of course it wont be gender locked. They have to choose a gender for promotional art however, cant go with an It.
Most likely will be a strenght class, armored with spear and shield moves that can be hybrid melee or ranged like the Rogue. Which will allow the class to scale better due to having an additional stat stick.
But the melee moves can use any melee range weapon to satisfy those craving sword and board so badly.
With a holy theme, perhaps a return of holy damage auras that might work alike the druidās venom pet. Passive damage and activated for a big surge of damage with an effect
For me maybe one valkyrie/holy/spear type character, that alreaady teased im fine with that.
But after that something completely fresh like my Blue mage idea. Since trying completely new and unique stuff has a much higher appeal to me then old mechanics.
I just want a class with plate armor, shield, and auras. Be it a warrior, paladin, crusader, templar, knight, etc. A holy class might not work with the D4 storyline, in which case Iād be happy with a neutral or ādarkā version of it.
Not really, if you base it on D&D classes, a Paladin and Cleric plays quite differently.
And thereās no telling what Blizz might do. They could decide to split the skills and archetypes or not and still keep them combined. Weāll know when it happens.
Oh we will also get the Witchdoctor sooner or later since one of the Act is in the swamplands. But Iād always see the Witchdoctor as a Curse/DOTs/Summoner type of class.
more like people is raging and frothing if they cant get the exact d2 classes again. Case in point the poor reception of the d3 witch doctor because he wasnt the necromancer.
And I say the Crusader came because of the same thing with the monk. People cant deal with change.
I was originally going to suggest a Horadrim class but when I looked them up it said made up of mages and wizards and we have Sorc so I didnāt.
I actually liked Witch Doctor even though I mained a Necro in the original D2. It was unique and had a lot of different builds/ways to play it. And I also liked Crusader, but donāt have as much time on it as WD. Crusader was more to my liking than Paladin.
If they want D4 to be very popular it would be a good idea to not only add old classes weāve had in the past but also new ones. Could even switch off by making an old beloved class of the past with a modern twist like theyāve been doing and than add in a new class and than add in an old class and than new class, etc.
