New Uniques are great... But Sorcs

I love the changes with the uniques and think this is a positive direction for the game. The issue is that as Uniques get more competive for gear slots it puts more pressure on some builds than others. If we count the value ammy as 1.5 and two handed weapons as 2 you see for weapon slots:

Barb: 10.5
Rogue: 8.5
Sorc: 6.5

Given that most builds need to combine legendary aspects to function this hurts the Sorc’s ability to access uniques more than others. Thats before we even get to the fact that rings are actually a vital spot for resource utility (needed more with mana hungry CL pants).

For instance, I want to make a Basic Attack Arc Lash/CL Sorc. The changes to Paingoer’s gauntlets looks great and a MUST for the build, but to equip them I would only have 2.5 weapon slots let for legendary aspects:

Sword: Shard
Gloves: Pain goers
Ring: Tals
Ring: Starless Skies

This is a cool meaningful choice since my options here are to drop a huge amount of damage for overall viability of a build or utility. The issue I have is that some other Classes seem to get the damage and the utility, so it makes what I would argue was good design feel bad for the class I play.

It sounds cheesy but would be cool if Sorc ammys or rings could get two aspects or something. The rings would make more sense if you made it so that the second aspect HAD to be a utility.

Yeah, Clearly sorcs are always a little short on aspects :frowning:

But it is what it is hehe

If Sorc Enchantments did anything there wouldnt be issue but Enchantments do nothing for most skills so not only sorc Is shorter on aspect slots, it also has class mechanic that does absolutly nothing in most cases thats why every build is running Fire Bolt or Ice Blades cuz everything else Is equal in power to missclicking the skill

Yeah I got rid of fire bolt but cant ditch Ice Blades in any build I run now.

I wouldn’t mind another enchantment slot. I know they appear week but some would synergize better as 2 rather than 3.

Just saw them and must say I’m amazed… Think would go in other direction with some of them but overall GJ

(For example would make TR be able to cast Tornado as a free spell on CD, Starfall cast a Meteor as a free spell on CD), so all classes can try to use them

The one that kinda made me “meh” and wish it was better is Cowl of the Nameless, it should’ve been another Generic IMO (LH% vs CC-ed targets is quite useful as a generic thing to have)

Some of them were obviously “meme” material a bit (666% Poison Res), but some were obviously whoa, wait a minute and things like:

  • 300% Damage, or
  • 60% AllRes, or
  • 60% Damage to Elites :slight_smile:

I even remember joking for Banished Lord’s Talisman on Sorc (lol I think it may be combined with Axial to just timely proc. the Overpowers :P)

Kinda wish Melted Heart was a Ring now (the +60 to Resource would go really well combined with Locran, but kinda get why it isn’t)

Overall like how they gave a “theme” to all the Uniques, but some of them should’ve probably been more generic for all class use rather than “weirdly” specced (like the Cowl for example)
