New to The Diablo Series

This probably isn’t worthy of an entire forum post. But I didn’t really know anywhere else to voice my opinion where it could be even potentially heard if it even matters to anyone. I know the common phrase that comes with having an opinion… However, I am brand new to the Diablo Series as stated in the title. I started playing day one from the suggestion of a few of my close buddies who have enjoyed several of the games from the series.

I chose to explore Sanctuary as a Barbarian. I wanted to be (what I felt was portrayed as a strong tanky melee class) and every time I have to patch my game this strong tanky melee is starting to feel more and more like a huge dude with a butter knife, who is deciding to slowly take off his armor while fighting increasingly difficult mobs whos health pools only raise in every patch.

Truthfully, I just want to know if this is what every single Diablo before this one has gone through. Am I only ever going to find myself getting weaker and weaker through every single patch of the game? I’ve even found myself changing specs with the patches to compensate and every single time, I get slapped right in the mouth. Is this what I can learn to grow to expect from Diablo?

I’ve been completely captivated by this game since I started playing it and have found myself literally not being able to stop playing. But it’s grown increasingly hard to say I still feel that same way.

What you are looking for is other ARPGs like older Diablo games, Grim Dawn, Torchlight, POE or Last Epoch.

D4 is using some new never before seen ideas which clearly don’t work and are hated by most

Amen on the last part. I mean you wont even see uber uniques until you’ve quit or died. Probably the latter if you continue on playing. The so called “chase” items because the rest of them are pure bloat in comparison.
