Ya naw I’m at paragon 270 and probably not gonna bother for 300 but I would be incentivized too if I had an incentive. Like higher drop rates. Getting to 300…will be difficult…so what…oh wow…drop rates are suddenly associated with difficulty…oh wow…this is amazing…
Lack of drops make the game less fun right? Ya it does. Increasing them beyond only picking up literal thousands of peices of trash makes the game funner right? No one is going to disagree. You literally pick up thousands if not 10’s of thousands of garbage items before you even pick up something useful.
There is actually a lot of thought that goes into 270 levels of playing. 270-300 will be a dull grey void. Unless there is an incentive to proceed into it.
Wow no way you are 270?! That is so wierd coincidence.
Anyway…

We can agree that drop should be associated with difficulty, right? I guess so. So why they should be like that just after 270? Why? Is it that famous sugar and medicine?
Would not be better if it would work like that whole time? I guess so.

You are saying that process from 270-300 is slow and boring, how exactly it will be faster or more exciting with better droprates? It would be exactly same, just rewards would be better. Nothing would change except people who are not capeable or willing to reach 270 would be upset.
So long story short your proposition goes like this.
“drop rates and loot in general here is trash. Exp slog from 270 - 300 is also trash. So to have better feeling from exp trash lets make drop trash less trashy”
Mate just admit it really. It was a bad idea.
Still trying to think how to do this…
The answer to that is to make end game content instead of just pointless grinds. It isnt to give better aspects for pointless grinds. The true problem is that either Blizzard doesnt really want to invest into making end game content or they lack the knowledge of what end game content really is. So far all they have made is farming content and more pointless grinds.
Making drop rates better after 270 paragon(or 250, whatever choose some number) would incentivize shooting for 300. Right now there is literally 0 incentive to shoot for 300. Oh you get a mount trophy oh good no one even looks at those.
There are obviously other things Blizzard could add as incentives but this is one idea. So no, it is not dumb. “End game” being a long boring soul draining grind is what is dumb.
You are still missing the point. If any activity is boring, adding reward for it won´t change that. It will be still same boring activity just with better carrot at the end. You already have reward in that in term of more PL points.
It would be just lame bandage fix… Considering that, you have good shot to see it in game, bcs that is how Blizzard operate.
Improving drop rates based on timespent in game is bad suggestion.
The vast, vast, vast majority of people wouldn’t hit 300 in season under the current XP scale regardless of the reward because they simply don’t have the time.
I like playing the game, but I can’t bring myself to boot it up because S7 / Xpac is so boring. Can’t bring myself to grind anymore as items that drop suck and you can’t even get max aspects anymore.
I check Forum / Patch notes to see if there has been a patch to improve the game, that is as far as my D4 experience goes these days.
