I’d love to see Diablo 4 add a cowboy-inspired class that uses a revolver in the right hand and magic in the left, creating a true melee/ranged hybrid playstyle.
The idea isn’t a modern cowboy, but a dark, gothic demon hunter who channels arcane power through one hand while firing rune-etched bullets with the other. At range, they could mark enemies with curses and magical shots. Up close, those marks could be detonated with magical strikes, short-range blasts, or enchanted melee attacks.
Some skill ideas:
Hex Shot – Fire a cursed bullet that weakens enemies.
Arcane Fan – Rapidly fire multiple magical rounds in a cone.
Hellbrand – Mark enemies, then trigger an explosive magical burst at close range.
Spectral Draw – Instantly dash to a target while firing a point-blank shot.
Dead Man’s Gambit – A high-risk ultimate that combines rapid gunfire with devastating spell
*effects.
The fantasy would be standing in the middle of combat, weaving between gunplay and spellcasting rather than choosing one or the other. It would feel distinct from the Rogue while still fitting Diablo’s dark atmosphere.
Would you play a revolver-and-magic class, or do you think firearms don’t belong in Sanctuary?
Would be nice to have fresh classes that are not the norm. I always wanted to have a character with a whip in one hand and a katana sword or gun in the other hand.
But sadly i dont see any outstanding classes in the available ARPGs.
The Last Epoch Rogue can throw Shuriken. Thats also nice. Diablo just goes with daggers/swords and (cross)bows.
If i was a dev i would go really creative with classes.
i like science fiction, but that doesnt mean d4 should have starwars/startrek like characters, same with cowboys, that just doesnt fit the lore. Or at least i cant remember seeing any character in diablo games with guns.
Eastern themed characters fine, since we already had a eastern themed sorc in d3, so a eastern themed swordfighter isnt as far off.
too bad when we had the doom calab, we couldnt unlock becoming a master chief (space marine). Id love to be a gun wielding 1 hand and a chainsaw blade in the off hand crazy demon slaying part robo machine with a dab of jedi
while cats are very nimble, they stand no chance vs bruce lee. I think maybe sharks with freakin lasers on thier heads might be more up to bruce lee’s torment level.
Guns canonically do not exist in Diablo. The universe from a technological standpoint does not have the capability for firearms. I would not be surprised however to see something like this with one handed repeater crossbows and elemental bolts.
Diablo isn’t supposed to have guns. At that point you might as well bring League of Legends Pirates like Miss Fortune. Maybe then we can have other races too like Gnomes and Dark Elves :O. And space dragons as a class like Aurelion Sol!
Actually this reminds me of the Assassin’s Creed Raid Shadow Legends collab xD
Do you have reference for this? The concept of gunpowder and explosives in the conventional real world sense is not part of the Diablo universe that I am aware of or have ever interacted with. Or don’t, I dont really want to get into an argument over technicalities..
My point is that suddenly introducing a class with guns that have literally never existed before would be beyond jarring and would thematically change the entire franchise. Im not saying that is good or bad but I would be super surprised if they did it.
EDIT: Maybe like flintlock level tech? But a revolver? That’s jumping so many iterations….
