The landslide pillars triggered by Aspect of Trampled Earth aren’t spawning Tornados or Lightning Storms. I played this build a while back and I could’ve sworn that they did before but now only get the occasional Hurricane from Trample itself being an earth skill. Did they change the interaction or is this a bug?
It doesn’t work that way after s5 and the Landslide ring driven StormSlide build. The passive specifically states “casting” while Trampled Earth says “summons(read: triggered).” It’s an important distinction. Nature’s Fury will now only proc off of the skill you cast, which in this case, is Trample. Hence, you then get an occasional Hurricane to accompany it as it is the Storm based wrath skill.

That was my observation but thanks for confirming. While I suppose I can see why they might’ve made the change, it’s kinda lame imo. Kinda kills trampleslide since the only reason to take Nature’s Wrath now in this build is the cdr from Symbiotic Aspect, but then you miss out on the bonus damage from not proccing the core storm skills or just choosing another keystone passive.
I agree that it is lame. I think they made the change because it basically made the StormSlide build evergreen, which would work against their meta shifting seasonal model. I still think they could’ve just changed damage values to fluctuate it’s standing within the class build hierarchy instead of gutting the mechanic that made it possible, but I’m not a developer, so my opinion is irrelevant. /shrug
