Mythic Drop Rates

How in the world would anyone get insulted over something so insignificant? So odd.

Figure of speech man. Stop being obtuse.

You said its insulting. If you didnt think it was you wouldnt have said that. I can’t imagine the weak mentality that makes someone think like that.

Mythics are ā€œokā€ but not clear and universal upgrades for players to plug into their builds. For twinking Alts, they are fantastic, but let’s be serious, if you have an Alt, the chances are you are getting carried and Boosted with XP runs anyways.

Some Mythics are better than others such as Shroud of False Death which was it not for the +1 Passive would not amount to much. Virtually any build uses this currently as eventually Defense does not matter and you are simply looking to boost damage as much as possible.

All stats bonus is significant and quite handy, too

This is not only about boost but also freeing up affixes on other gear or being able to swap some gear (used for some specific affix) with other more relevant

Are you trying to argue that Mythics are well better than non-Mythic items? Most are not. The handful that are, are situational and the chances you find one with at least 1 good GA for the Affix that isn’t ā€œmehā€, is very low.

My argument is that Mythics should be Rare, but need to drop with 4 GAs. Certain Mythics like Shattered Vow and Selig’s need to be reworked. Andariel’s is a remnant of its former glory.

You answeared your question, I think: several mythics (helm/chest/sword) are way better, others are not (like for all other gears).

I’d rather have more drops with 1 GAs than even less / almost none with 4 GAs.

Some unqiues are great also, but drop rates can also be low with good affixes/power level

Keep in mind that my latest experience is zero mythic boss drop. You may have had more luck…

Mythics have around a 3% belial droprate according to the 3500 belial run post. This means that over the short term 2 players could have a large gap in mythic earnings. This gap will close over time but only if you are grinding bosses.

This gap is exponentially larger in blacksmith caches. For undercity the chance to get mythic is probably higher for the rare one that gives mythic.

This is an issue, Judging by the posts I read, for mythics the drop gap seems to broaden rather than close, and grinding bosses becomes increasingly boring, not difficult, just the most boring activity … this is nonsense.

Drop gap between two ppl will always approach the average over a long period of grinding but one person might get 7 in a row and other gets nothing to start. That 0 player is going to think its rigged but its not. Its math at work. Over the coarse of the season and thousands of kills the players will approach the 3% average at least on Belial so after a week its 0 - 7 but after 3 months say 1000 kills its 31 - 33 or something like that.

Blacksmith / obal guy is so hard to get a mythic that one player might get 1 and other will be 0. The average here is closer to 0 than 1 I bet. Ive got 1 mythic this way in 9 seasons.

We have no idea what the undercity rate is but its higher than 3% I would say for the mythic one. Others is trash and probably under 1% or even .1%.

Yet, in season 9 after 3 months and 330 hours of play with 5 different characters and classes, with many many boss kills and other activities I get zero mythic drop.

In previous seasons I always had at least 2-3 drops, from Helltides, NMDs, Curiosities gambles, PIt and sometimes Boss fights. And amongst the mythics dropped half were good ones…

I have been playing since season of the construct (3), I have 12 eternal mythics (2 heir, 1 crest, 1 tyrael, 2 shroud, 2 starless, 2 grandfather, 1 doombringer, 1 spear) and as many sparks, in my eternal stash cumulated from previous (S4+) seasonal characters . I did not buy VOH.

Mythics drops have just diseappeared from season 9 and the blacksmith keeps on crafting the most crappy ones.

If Belial fights have become the main way to get a mythic drop, and expansions are prioritized, this may explain a lot … An arpg game having you fight Belial a thousand times to get one mythic seems to have kind of lost its ways (ie enternainment), no ?

Who are you kidding?

Its an RNG based on RPG, so its working as intended.

You were just incredibly lucky here. This is not the norm. You almost never get mythics from these sources.

What’s incredible ? isn’t 2-3 drops consistent with a 3% average, over a full season ?

Whatever the source zero dropped in season 9

i wish we could put some points via skill or even paragon into ā€œluckā€ or chance at getting mythic drops

ITs 3% from belial. Other sources its nowhere near 3%. Much much lower.

Unless paying for duped mats for Belial, it was a PITA to get Baby Belial to spawn.

I still do not understand: there was no Belial most of the seasons I got those mythics drops before, why is it incredible ?

So basically, now Belial is the only way to get drops ? How exciting !

You shouldn’t expect Mythics to drop from any other activity than Bosses. I have been playing since release, a lot every season, and have only seen one drop outside a Boss Lair (Pit in S4). I put aside the few I got from Undercity since you don’t own VoH.

I agree that Belial is the only Boss giving decent loot and the others, you do them now mainly expecting apparitions because when it comes to loot, there isn’t much to expect.

Belial was the Boss who gave me the less Mythics in S9, only one I believe, but he was obviously also the one I did the less.
