My dear friend... be respectful

I was surprised and astonished by some of the responses from participants in the forum.

When a player posts a problem here..

it’s either a message to the developers..

a request for other players’ opinions..

or an explanation of an event in the game..

or asking for help ….To get the best assistance.

The natural and expected response is for other players to offer their opinions, help the player solve the problem, or clarify things.

But some people participants are acting disrespectfully and think they’re so clever, which is a huge mistake.

For example:

I’ll say that this part is extremely difficult. ( The Pit ) ( For example )

Someone will reply: “Don’t play this part.”

Or I’ll say that the sorcerer fire is weak compared to the other elements.

Someone will reply:

“Don’t play with fire, play with lightning.” ( For example )

or

(( Don’t play the game )) ?? ??

What?

What did I gain from this response? What did anyone reading this thread gain from this response?

You didn’t offer a sound opinion. You didn’t provide any explanation. You didn’t help me. You didn’t share your thoughts. No other viewpoint was presented.

Please respect everyone; not all players are equal in their ability to understand, concentrate, be intelligent, grasp a particular system, or find a way to deal with a problem, etc…. When someone writes about a problem they are facing

And respecting the opinion when someone writes about something they want to improve in the game, or equalize, or add, or whatever.

Definitely not. The people ranting like maniacs, cursing our Blizzard, straight up hyperbolic lying, they don’t deserve respect.

I’m speaking generally.

But wait …… all people ?

You gained that you are playing the wrong or weaker build and that adjusting your build & strategy will lead to better outcome.

by saying don’t play it . . . . ?

Yes.

By saying “don’t play fire, Switch to lightning”

There’s like 3-4 different build sites (and all of them have like 3-4 different lightning builds) that give you complete build guides on how to best destroy your enemies

Us telling you to avoid fire build and saying “don’t play it” is not malice, It is helpful

Great, if you could write this down for me and explain it as you just said

Better than don’t play it

That’s what I mean, whether it’s a problem, an opinion, a presentation, or anything else.

Most people on these forums are jaded, annoyed, Frustrated, angry or just trolling.

Don’t take what they say too seriously.

Fire sorc has not been good since like S3 or 4, so yes “Don’t play fire” will be peoples usually response and some will just mock that you even attempted to use it in the first place.

Trolling & rude people will always be around, you just gotta learn how to filter through them and not let them get to you

Then lower the pit level you are struggling with. It’s nothing more then a gear/build and don’t stand in fire check.

This is by design with there unbalanced game. They have been pushing meta garbage since the game came out.

It’s not disrespectful to point out the obvious flaws in the the game and the personal choices people make then complain about.

guys …

i say for…. ( For example )

——————> For example ←—————-

plz take a look 1 more time up there and ( focus )

((…………..………… ( For example )………………………..))

i am not talking that i have problem with PIT or Fire

its for ( EXAMPLE ) ←———

but what you say is cool Lazyloaf

This is how the response should be about sorcerer fire - and the pit in your Reply

Dont be a snowflake if some responses are a bit too direct, as long as its not personal insult, its still respectful to you. Not neccessary respectful to d4, but frankly they screw up so much lately that a bit of harsh critics is completely warranted.

But i agree that responses like 1 liners usually not very helpful if its just sarcasm, but thats normal forum stuff, dont take it too serious.

First of all the one that asks should be respectful, half of the time we see things that sound more like demands rather than feedback or suggestions.. With LoH the “rants” became less frequent as more people are pleased in general, used to be much worse

Secondly, yes, the devs have both a limited time and a delayed response to things with a really annoying 6 month delay (not this season, not the next cause other team’s already working on it, but the season after), at least that’s how it used to (you could’ve seen people on the forums refer to them as “Team A” and “Team B” or the “Odd team”), regardless, you get the idea, unless it sounds like a game-changer or ground-breaking improvement, it’s 6-month time period of consideration before any improvement/s go in

I’d personally add even reverse prioritization of things as a problem, been there since S1 (as I’ve mentioned before T12 and Pit 150 and whatever else should be literally the VERY LAST THING to care about, i.e. Uber-Lillith and lvl 100 back at game start (do the queue in reverse, fix game bottom-up not top-down), i.e. fix what players play/deal-with more often first and care about “elitist demand” later after being done

But frankly that’s water under the bridge now, the game is just different and it’s hard to pinpoint exact problems, it feels like it’s a conglomerate of 3-4 games being played in parallel now (which to be frank kinda works, for the most part )

Now IDK what your post/topic relays specifically thing, but a “generic” post/topic like this won’t get you much far

P.S. if your biggest problem is replies of others then it’s a sign of the game being in a good general place ATM

The concerns you point out Op, usually also can be stemming from the lack of reading the topic/ the post properly before responding and often giving one with an assumption or the lack of ability to read something that was written extensively to put it politely.

It would be nicer if less prejudices was going on here but thats like asking one to swim against the current or expecting one liners to stop which I can agree does not really help if it says lots of nothing.

Tbf you gave examples and I gave some solutions to said examples.

I was not taking a dig at you.

Idk how many times in these fourms its just people whining about:

  1. Not getting what they want when they want it
  2. The difficulty level they chose to play they arnt geard for but refuse to turn down the own difficulty
  3. They take minor risk like sanctification and the world has ended because they didnt get what they want.

The response honestly was pretty neutral however if someone chooses to put feelings or emotions into what they read, that would be on them.

Most people who post arnt looking for help or guidance but just venting how they themselves were triggered by not meeting there own expectations.

For example

It’s challenging to sound respectful when someone cries because of rng yet they are playing an arpg.

People behave here the same way they do in real life. The D4 forum is not different from any other place where people interact with one another. Don’t expect anything better.

Always try to be helpful. Instead of saying “shutup”, say “how can i help you shutup?” It costs nothing to be kind.

I think the blaming culture is even worse:

The problem is you.
You are the reason this game is bad.
Because of people like you this game turned into D3.
You are what’s wrong with this community.

You are making the mistake of thinking everyone here is “normal functional adult” and that Blizzord does not have their own “control the narrative” accounts here.

The former may be kids or frustrated people.

The second category are not customers like you or I. They are usually private profiles so you can’t look at their posts and see that 99% of them just attack others and never talk about the game. All they do is bend the narrative and attack others who may be saying critical things about the game. There is 0 reason to have your account private here as battlenet settings protect your private info. Do yourself a favor and put them on “ignore for forever”. They are here to cause problems and that is it. Whether it is turning people on each other or instigating fights themselves.

Now there is a 3rd catergory of people like me who have seen for 13 seasons what actually happens and do not take everything so seriously, maybe even cynically. But they do not attack others who do not attack them. They tend to generally still be helpful.

That 2nd group is really harmful to that feeling of community of customers. Identify and put them on ignore immediately the forums will be a better place.

I hit the nail on the head and got you.

I meant you.

No, you’re the reason this game is bad, and that’s clear from your response.

End of conversation.

This is the person…. guys

Thanks to everyone for participating.
