Sorc defense depends two things: Damage Reduction and Barrier generation by cast skills with cooldown
Lightning build is the only build with good defense because unstable current can generate way more barrier . Build variety for sorc will be very limited
- Single target damage too low
Sorc always suffers low single target DPS since launch, except the bugged ball lighting in S2. I believe it is due to following reasons
- Sorc rely on crowd control to apply damage, boss cannot be crowd controlled until they stagger. Boss are way harder to be stagger and stagger duration is too short for high lvl pit
- Sorc skill base damage is too low and lack of damage multiplier. most damage multiplier are too conditional and numbers are too low. especially you compare them to new tempering and new gear stats numbers.
Here are couple of possible Solution I suggest

add 1 amulet or 2 rings for sorc. with more and more unique coming, Sorc is running out of place to put aspect to make a build function. Barb has 4 weapons, I am not asking 4 amulet or 4 rings, just 1 more amulet or 2 more rings.

Change Paragon notes that add x% damage to elites from additive to a multiplier

Triple glyph damage multiplier to match new gear system numbers and this way enables more build variety as well.

Triple damage increase from each point you put for a skill. for example, the difference between 1 skill point for ball lightning and 5 points is less than an aspect. the higher the skill rank you go, you get less from each skill points. Skill from rank 5 to rank 20 but the damage increase from it may just equal to an aspect. Please triple current damage gain per skill rank

change all skill damage multiplier to elemental damage multiplier. For example, Permafrost now increase frost skill damage by x percent. Please change it to increases cold damage by x percent
