My biggest fear(?) in Diablo IV - What's yours?

At 71 my ‘think fast’ reaction times have definitely eroded away.

As I progress into higher difficulties the enemy attack speed is supposed to go up. This gives me some concern.

Elden Ring was a nightmare for quite some time but eventually I got the cadence of it. Hope I can get the Cadence of D4 a little quicker!

First off, I love what I saw in the betas and can hardly wait for release. My biggest fears, however, is that, like Diablo III, following Acts will began to become increasingly shorter, with less story, as well as fewer instances of the neat little things that made Act I good. You know, bait us with something cool, only to get lazy later.

Since I live is a small town, my biggest fear is someone hitting out power station with a car and taking out the power for the area and not being able to play right away  Yes, that actually happened twice since I moved out here… not sure how people drive right into that area unless they are part bugs and say to themselves, ooooh shiney light - must drive to the light now! hahaha

My biggest fear, another 10+ years without a SFF mode. :beers:

That they’ll dumb it down to the point where it’s no longer recognizable from its original form & provides no challenge. But for the most part I take a lot of these games as is nowadays, knowing things can change at any time & there’s a lot of other stuff coming out all the time. This year is insane for new, high quality releases.

To be annihilated by the Butcher when I try to play the game in hardcore :scream:

Mine is that I will not be able to regulate the time I play, ending in social isolation and private life abandoned :sob:

YES! hhahahah I like they added him similar to the nemsis system in the playstation (console feature - but it was only locked to softcore) - you could never get a nemesis to spawn in any hardcore game.

Even though there is no SSF mode officially, it’s normally the way I play.

I plan to just enjoy the game for what it is, and if that stops being fun I’ll just go play something else… so I don’t really have any big fears with the game itself; it doesn’t need to be the center of my life for the next 10 years.

One worry I do have is that the social aspect of the game will rely 100% on clans, and as an adult who’s not interested in communicating in twitch lingo and frog faces or being a meta-only speedrager; I may have a hard time finding a clan that is a good fit.

Yeh same here, I prefer doing stuff at my own pace and not having to think about others… gives me so much more immersion into the game. :beers:

My fear is that the story will be just annoying and awful and terrible experience.

First act was full of dialogue, its hard to skip them, plenty of esc once doesnt works, have to hit esc second or even third time.
Then the waiting for npc plenty of times. It was so bad. So much waiting for npc to walk somehwere I was dying on this waiting. Really hate the story so far.

I agree, and I’m so happy that we will only ever have to do the story one time.

If you ever can’t skip, just alt-tab to a different window and back again; that will fix it.

I hate to admit to this but it will be my gaming center for quite some time. But as a mature adult, I can walk away if the need ever arises. Like Starfield and Baldur’s Gate3.
(for awhile anyway!)

Oh I am definitely hoping the endgame and seasons will deliver and it will be mine as well.

The story might be even good I liked the cinematics but all the scripted events and waiting for dialogues and for npc walking arround that was just horible. I played all 3 betas and I did story only twice, couldnt force my self to do it anymore, I rather just grind dungeons on other chars.

Yeah going over Fractured Peaks for the third time will be a bit much - But I’ll do it anyway! Ha!

My biggest fear is having another repeat of Act 2 from Diablo 3. Hours spent looking for the exit to the desert. No thanks.

You don’t like being chased across the desert by enraged wasps that can one shot you?

Either that or watching Belial have his “Gotcha” moment everytime there is a bounty to kill him. Like oh no, who knew this little kid was Belial all along, the horror, the suprise.
