I already left the thread, but had to come back to douple dip on your user name.
it’s funny! I like it.
Still not funny at all.
So looks like season 2 was a good step forward (big step)
Then AoZ was a step backward
Then MwB was a step backward from that
I truly pray s3 is a monumental leap
I can’t imagine how they could make this event any more boring. I’d like to play Diablo. But there is no universe where I’m going to play this for dozens of hours in order to get the unlocks.
I could go back to grinding AoZ but this event is so astounding to me I think I’m going to stop until s3
Wow, this sounds like it would have been fun at the start of a season, when I wanted to level a character… but instead come awn back and buy more cosmetics while you play a reskinned helltide and farm for cosmetics instead of boss mats. Thppppt. Waiting for d4 beta release to finish 3rd quarter 2028 to finally enjoy.
Are you actually serious? Im a roll my own sorc (not ball lightning), fought him say 5 times on level 74 and 75… only ancestral is my weapon… i thought the encounter was perfect. He killed me, i killed him, when i soloed it once without dieing, it was so satisfying.
How did you get to level 90 being so weak… not doing paragon boards?
I saw these melle characters one shotting it though, wasn’t really fun
And shame about the rewards, i ended up selecting 3, getting 3, and being done.
I got the Sorcerer off hand. In case you haven’t seen it, it is a candle on a little bed of skulls caged by some twigs. I couldn’t believe that it matched my holiday decorating so well
Is there an actual quest or quests for this event? I haven’t seen any. I have just been killing stuff for the currency to convert to those tokens.
He does have a lot of HP though. I’m only able to take him down on my purely ranged rogue solo (and with not much time left to spare) because of Tibault’s Will granting me 16 extra combo points. For an “event” boss, he’s got a bit much HP.
i have never seen him live longer than a few seconds
I am still sitting here blinking in disbelief. It means that I stumbled into a whimsy franken-build that does not suck. I easily down him in less than 30 seconds solo. I do have to use my ultimate, but he does not even cost me a health potion usually. My minions are even still up most of the time thanks to that ring.
I don’t min/max and don’t really follow guides. I have no clue if my Paragon points are “right” or not. I never looked it up. I just did whatever gear drops and interesting text made me pick.
That’s because virtually everyone’s running around as either a ball lightning sorcerer or HotA barb. For specs that can’t insta-delete entire screenfuls of mobs, he’s a massive sponge.
There aren’t a lot of necro builds that outright suck. There are a lot of builds that fall under D/F tier for the other classes though.
Out of curiosity what level is your rogue?
I’ve spent about 4 hours now, and only made about 30 proofs. So clearly I am just not lucky or just not as efficient as others but either way it’s just boring AF. If I have to calculate and make sure everything is 100% optimized to be efficient to avoid spending an absurd amount of time then it’s just not worth it. Game is meant to be fun, not a chore. The cosmetics just don’t look that great either so few elixirs and the mount trophy and probably it for me.
I have better ways to spend my time than with a lazy borefest that feels more like a chore than enjoying my gaming time. Too each their own though.
My rogue is LV 100. Bosses scale and use World of Warcraft’s level scaling tech so that players of differing levels can help take them down, and they scale with the number of other players. Unfortunately, I’m not running a poison/daggers rogue, I’m a purely frost/ranged rogue. Tibault’s Will is what allows me enough damage to take this boss down solo, but not with a lot of spare time left. As I said, unless you have a build that deletes things instantly, this boss is akin to a meat shield.
do events. you must be intentionally avoiding them. i mean i got over 500 proofs in less than 8 hours and got all cosmetics. been running aoz since
You’re on the extreme narrow end of the bell curve here. And by extreme, I mean “hardcore gamer” extreme. I’ve put north of ten hours into the event and thus far I have 169 proofs doing almost nothing but events. A grand total of about twelve of those proofs have come from the red-cloaked trophy material, which means those are obnoxiously low drop rate for how many of that boss I’ve knocked out so far. You’re actually almost better off just farming husks + events than anything else, and husks are where I’ve gotten the majority of my materials from. I don’t even bother with the “helpless villagers” anymore because in the time it takes me to physically locate them onscreen I could just pony past two or three husks and kill 1-3 goblins and get more loot that way.
I love power gamers. Not everone has the time to do 8hrs. Most people can only do a few at a time. During the weekends if people have the time most can only do five hours or a few more. The time it take’s to do Midwinter Blight is just stupid, but if thats your cup of tea go for it. The rewards verses the time put in is again stupid! That’s just me! This EVENT is just not fun!
idk what to say, i have done about 4 to 5 hours total since the event started and I have earned over 200 proofs, all you really need to do is equip hemomancy and get the buff from the midwinter square and you barely even have to attack the mobs. also they just buffed the drop rate of all the stuff, making it even easier, idk what else to tell ya.
if you think 8 hrs of gaming over a 21 day period is too much then i guess you have never done an in game event in any online game ever
