Blizzard Devs pretending they dont see this… there are people all over the world when atwork, refuse to do things theyre supposed tp do… i guess at Blizzard its no different.
Update:
I have a workaround that has worked for me so far, across 4 items 13x total changes. Proof enough for me that this is a good solution. I feel confident when I do this that I will get a different affix each time (unless it just happens to pick the same one by chance RNG result), which has not happened yet to me but certainly is possible. That would not constitute a bug though. Just normal chace odds.
Try this:
- Unequip the item you want to reroll your MW on. Put it in your chr local inventory.
- Unmark it as junk or a favorite. No marks. Just vanilla item.
- Quit game. Don’t just log out, Quit completely, to desktop.
- Log back in.
DO NOT RE-EQUIP THE ITEM!
- With item unmarked and sitting in inventory, Reset MW on this item at Blacksmith.
- Quit game back to desktop again.
- Log back in.
DO NOT RE-EQUIP THE ITEM!
- MW item to level 4, with it unequipped and unmarked in inventory.
It should choose a truly random affix this time.
Maybe having it equipped and/or marked as a favorite that causes the glitch.?
Seems so. Try this and see if it works for you.
Has happened to me on 3 different items. Rerolled 4x on each item mentioned. The 3rd item I rolled 4x and got the same affix result, I looked it up because the probability of this happening 12x across 3 items is astronomical.
The 1st reroll did pick a different affix. After that, resetting does not result in a different affix choice.
I can confirm that this is happening every time. After reset, always same affix gets masterworked. If I reset and log out, the masterwork is back when I log in so there is a ‘memory’.
This bug needs way more attention…
This happened to me with an Esu’s Heirloom with a GA crit damage. It’s masterworked the resist all 5 times in a row, which is a 1 in 1024 chance IF the stats have even weighting…
I can also confirm that this is happening. I had the same affix roll 5 times in a row after resetting at the blacksmith. That’s like rolling a 1, 5 times in row on a d4. Sure it could be random, but pretty unlikely. Also very annoying since it takes multiple runs to get the mats to do it, plus the gold cost.
Still happening. Lost a bit of obductie on a Winterglass. Are the devs even working on this?
I can confirm your method works. PITA, but it works.
