Masterwork is not crafting, is upgrade system is a bit diffrent for me even tempering is any upgrade system, where people can target the stats they want to upgrade and Diablo is based on RNG.
I feel like with the Masterwork is good as it is today, becouse you can refresh it how many times you want with out destorying the itmes.
I feel diffrent on the tempering, is hard like hell finding a 3-4GA itmes with good stats it may even take 150 hours before you even find you first good 3 or 4 GA itmes.
Then you tempering it and you get like 14 in row with the same rolls just % stats then you can no longre reset it so it complete wortless that thing is a bad system. Some indeed has to be fix.
Masterwork i can feel is real RNG
Tempering is not any RNG for sure you have 3 options and somestimes you get 14 in row with the same options just % diffrens.
The ods that you get the same stats 14 times in row with 3 options is to small is not even 0.000000000001% chance it happens but somwhow is still possibol in Diablo IV
is like telling 14 people to think on a number beetween 1 to 3 the ods that every singel one would thing of number 1 would also be very small ods.
Last Epoch’s is possibly better, but it’s still terrible. Yes, super cool that I’ll have 21 points to upgrade and one might cost one point…might cost 14…let’s 50/50 maybe it’ll cost nothing. Not to mention the absolute garbage that is chasing exalted items and slamming.
Everything made from regular items to unique slamming is either meh crap or bricks.
These companies have such a hard on for RNG, it needs to be removed from crafting portions, full stop.
It certainly isn’t the end of the world. I just don’t like when games create aspects that are designed to purposefully take more of your time, rather than making it as fun as possible where you actually want to spend your time there and don’t feel like you ‘have’ to while chasing this carrot.
People get trapped in the hamster wheel rather than getting lost in the experience.
One answer is fairly obvious… two different modes.
Easy mode for players that just want to blast each season. Much similar to current with a few small tweaks… MW resets go back to previous crit, unlimited retempering, but scroll are more rare… ancestral items always have aspects from 17/21… etc.
Hard mode, for players who want a longer lasting loot hunt and grind for perfect items… no tempering resets, no MW resets, no enchanting…
And they could add SSF mode for players that are into that sort of thing… So, i guess that’s three modes… lol
What they could do is allow you to choose which Masterworking you want, but the value can only roll on the low end.
OR…
You could risk it and keep it as is with the possibility to roll max. I know it sucks to lose 2-3 GA items, but that’s what makes good gear great. I mean… what else we gonna do in D4 end-game? lol
This masterworking randomness slot machine is pure nonsense and it offends your intellect, I played 150h this season, and barely could triple masterwork 3-4 items out of 9… it’s a waste of time and it made me quit this season, I am top 150 Spiritborn in the Pits leaderboard and it’s a shame because I would have played more to push for top 100, but thanks to this silly mechanism that constantly drains and burns your resources it made me quit for good. I might consider not playing Season 7 if they don’t throw us a bone with this masterwork or if they don’t give us a self found mode. This is just insulting to my time tbh, it’s not even fair grinding, it’s just pure luck.
I dumped a total of 100K rawhide and about the equal amount in obducite and 1B to try and triple crit resolve stacks on pants just now. Nothing to show for it. Nada. Zip.
The developers have actually turned the loot hunt into something that players dread, simply because when an item drops, you know you’re in for hours of disappointment in trying to upgrade.
Let that sink in. They’ve taken the best part of any ARPG and turned it into something that players are not only NOT excited about, but are actively trying to avoid.
Exactly, found better 2 GA Pants, and I was devastated because I knew I had to re-masterwork triple hit on max resolve stacks that I already have on a 1 GA Pant. lol. Finding better items is just bad news for slots where you hit triplecrit, this is silly and it defeats the purpose.
For me current state of masterworking is no-go for this game… I don’t want to make another char, I don’t want to play more. If they won’t change it I will not play S7 also. So if Blizzard thinks that this nonsense will keep players in the game they are wrong. I know many ppl who have same issue with that and play less coz of it.
Right now I wanted to make Barb but I won’t coz I don’t want to waste time on masterworking.
And I know that it’s on purpose. I was counting how many times I got resolve stacks on 1st cirt. 4 out of 100 attemts. It should be like 20-25 if it’s real RNG but it’s not…
I wanted to switch to overpower version of my crushing hands build for a while. Every time I go to my stash and grab those items to temper and masterwork, I exhale and put them back.
I can’t seemed to bring myself around.
Yesterday I decided to do it piece by piece and first item I got out of my stash ended up bricked. It was the only GA on crashing hands item I found over 150-160 hours I played on my SB. So I put everything back in my stash and said this.
