“Dude”, gtfo!
If Diablo 4 is coded badly, then you are Captain America.
Every game has some problem at launch, but saying D4 is badly coded is like saying the earth is flat…
…is it ??

Kabal, you are defending things you clearly don’t understand.
I am sorry
d4 it’s not a 6/10, it has a mild story, no endgame at all, 0 replayability besides creating a new class because your old one sucks and can’t even kill properly on highest tier, thousands and thousands of bugs, poor patches and balance changes that comes out of nowhere , terrible season with 0 content, some classes has the most ridiculous hearts that makes them f#$# thanos with infinity gloves and other’s got just a fart in their faces, tell me more about this 6/10 game because to me its looking and smelling like a 4/10 game
even the new pinaccle boss sucks
It’s mid, I agree. It has its moments, it isn’t terrible, it isn’t great, either, especially post-campaign.
Why so much hate, then? It’s because it’s an ARPG. ARPG fanbase likes games that they feel good about playing many hundreds, if not even thousands, of hours. It’s a case of a fanbase with extremely high expectations for its games, and so if a game which is coming with high expectations (which any Diablo release will have) ends up being mid, it gets a lot of hate due to the mismatch between the “okay” nature of the game and the very high expectations of the ARPG fanbase.
Because it was made by a gigantic company with years of experience and other games of the same genre made before. Because it was built upon one of the biggest and most revolutionary franchises that ever existed. Because I paid 100 dollars, which is a lot of money in my local currency, and received an incomplete game, broken at its core mechanics, a total mockery of an aRPG, with terrible MMO elements and no social tools.
As I said on other topic:
Its not d2 enough for the d2 crowd so they hate it
Its not d3 enough for the d3 crowd so they hate it
Its not PC enough (Blizzard issues a while back) so the must be PC crowd hates it
Its not troll enough so the troll pile on and continue to hate it.
Those that cannot use bots to play and cheat hate it
Console hacker hate it because thus so far no hacks/mods
Yes there are some issues people had upon release. That happens with every software and not just gaming software. There are bugs, glitches, and users/players find unique ways to combine and do things far beyond what ANY developer can anticipate. For instance early on certain combinations of attacks and buffs created massive damage for Barbs and Druids resulting in WB going down in <3 sec, NM100 dungeons a joke. This was not but design and not what was intended. While the adjustment may have gone a bit too far the other way, it only made the game more challenging.
Not just Diablo, but every game series seems to expect a hotfix 5 min after they have submitted a bug report. They are upset when their particular fix is not included in the very next patch release. Most have never actually worked in the software industry and have no clue on how long it takes for minor bug repairs and qa take as well as confronting the actualy priorities the dev staff have to work with especially when it comes to checking code in and out. You can have as many devs as you want, but if code is check out by 1 the others cannot access, modify or make changes until it is checked back in.
Most gamers (self included) tend to be whiners and criers and getup tight when things don’t work how they want them.
People were willing to accept the mediocrity (on the condition that things were going to improve). But then the patch that nerfed everything came along and showed just how out of touch those who pull the strings were with the playerbase. And then people started reviewing the game as they accurately felt about it. That’s literally it. Nothing more, nothing less.
I started D4 at a 7.6 rating, the more and more I see they are failing at fixing major and small problems I have dropped it to a 3.5 rating.
More issues are coming up and less are being fixed in a timely manner. They priorities are so bad and their lack of vision is non existent.
The more I think about it the more I realize how bad this game really is. The only good thing about this game is the artwork/graphics and the campaign. Everything else about it is done really bad.
Its extremely bare bone with too many bad visions clashing and making the core mechanics of the game a major disaster.
I honestly don’t even believe they are testing their balance changes.
I’m guessing you mean me, however my posts are filled with equal parts hate and love because as I said the game is fun at times but not at other’s its a solid 6 or 7 out of 10 game, but I’d argue ESO is. 7/10 and I play that along with bdo which is also basically a 7/10. All problematic gamea with parts I enjoy when I get bored I take a break and come back later.
Yes at times I will prop it back up when people treat the game like a 2 when the reality is its closer to a 6-7…
Does it feel at times like a well made mobile game at times… yeah kinda but I enjoy some mobile games as well.
If you set you your expectations to diablo to being the savior of arpgs then thats more on you then blizzard though. No one ever said they were reinventing the arpg wheel or going above and beyond what you can experience in a mobile game.
Ive yet to sit here were anyones picked apart a promise made and not delivered unlike cyberpunk.
Does it need more balance yes, but that doesn’t make the game a 2.
not @ u
it was @ exiled
btw my opinion
this game is in beta phase sold as release
and it will take a year and more to fix/add content
big name abused for a really bad game to make good cash. in reality all the other diablo titles are not that great either yet they managed to create tons of hype somehow.
You are one million percent correct, NiZe! It’s shameful what Blizzard did, especially after their awful mass nerf that screwed over all players! Blizzard needs to do the right thing and correct itself, and fix and improve this broken, buggy beta game, Diablo IV -
People are hating on Diablo 4 because it is the poster child for modern gaming and what’s wrong with the GAAS model (destiny 2 is having similar issues). It’s not about fun or letting the devs make good games it’s about player psychology, MAUs and mtx.
We had hopes for a modern classic but got reminded how much modern gaming and game development is now a soulless corporate product to meet shareholder dividends and not put out a great product. Why do you think so many devs came out against BG3?
"I Hate Fun". The Psychology of Diablo 4? - YouTube Is a great video on the subject.
Because Diablo is part of our life, i grew up playing Diablo. Few were the games i devoted to play more than 1000 hours in my life, i had great time playing D1, D2 and yes, even D3 alone and with my friends. We are mad about this game, not because it’s a mediocre game, we could just stop playing and find another game. But this franchise represents nostalgia, feelings, emotion… D4 has a giant potential, we want more, devs focused more in visuals (that are stunning, we must recognize this), but so much was promised and almost nothing was delivered… The lore was an abomination (for someone who read all books from the franchise). We are here criticizing the game because we LOVE this game, we want this game to be BETTER, we are not here just to spread hate. We are here because we must point this developers what truly is Diablo.
Its an incredibly well loved IP, and lots of people have been playing 20-25 years.
Failure on this IP is well know, and tiresome for a lot of people.
amen to that brother
3 months cycle , quarterly reports^^
they wanna milk us with seasons, its really sad
this time im not sure it will work out like they think
maybe they just dont care course its microsofts problem soon
This rhetoric is kinda weird to me, lumping people with a different opinion than yourself into a group and inventing “facts” and generalizations of said group.
Anyway, as for my experience and why I quit but still visit the forums:
I’ve played barb since the days of d2, always loved blizz games regardless of franchise (pretend diablo immortal does not exist when I make this statement). So I had high hopes for this game. I played all the pre-purchase beta and open beta weekend/sever slam and enjoyed all of that. Pre season I had alot of fun leveling the barb to 100 and pushing nightmare dungeons.
Then once my glyphs were leveled, my gear was in a good state and I felt ready to try Lilith and make a push for nightmare 100 this is when my experience and joy fell apart. I poured hours into practicing and attempting Lilith, refining my paragon boards, gear and skill selections. At best got her to 40% I think in her first phase and this took about 5-7 minutes I can’t recall exactly. But essentially with the DPS I could put out as a ww barb I was looking at a 45 minute fight to kill Lilith. EVERY OTHER CLASS can kill her in sub 3 mins bypassing her mechanics or having ways of immuning through mechanics they aren’t fast enough to bypass.
Now I can understand and agree with a ww barb (or any aoe build) having lower single target dps, to a point. The disparity here however is completely unreasonable AND even barb single target dps options do not bring the kill time to under 30 minutes. Barb is clearly broken, there is no debate to be made. Those debating this either do not play at any high level or are just argueing from their own “feelings” of how they think the game is or should be.
Now arguments aside. A lot of aspects of the game are fun and I enjoy the game in general. But I’m not going to play it when I am effectively denied access to endgame content at character select. As to why I’m still on the forums? Well tbh I’m board at work and hope that anything I say or feedback I give will resonate with others or reach blizzard and help get the class pushed into a state that it can perform within 80% of other classes average damage output.
Do I want the game to fail? No
Do I think the game is failing? In multiple ways yes, overall no.
Did I quit? Yes
Will I come back if something in the future entices me? Probably
If the game is so mediocre why is everyone spending so much of their time in the forums and YouTube and everywhere talking about it?
People are obsessed with this game. It’s all you guys talk about
A SOMETIMES FUN game is not “mediocre.”
That is BAD.
A game should be fun, 100% of the time. If it’s not, why are you playing the game? You’re wasting your money if you’re not having fun!
It’s simple, the kiddies of this generation have found they get the most attention with negativity, so that’s become all they know. Just look at the most recent patch notes. Full of positive changes, but we get 200 threads complaining about boss health going up.
