It feels like a HC mechanic. There are some that don’t mind completely rerolling to pursue the best but, from my anecdotal experience, softcore players very much dislike it.

I’m not sure you understand the purpose of HC, or the fact no game that has offered an HC mode has offered completely different mechanics other than permanent death to go along with it.
No worries, I understand, must be your first game that’s had an HC mode. See what they do is make it so if you die it’s permanent. Everything else in the game works exactly the same. I can understand the confusion, but what you’re asking for is a new game mode entirely. Which I doubt they would ever introduce.

There’s plenty of complaining going on within the forums. I was just trying to understand why tempering attempts were a thing. Someone thought it was a good idea. I’ve never enjoyed HC, so I thought maybe it was made for that community.
