I completed the Diablo IV campaign with my first character. I was then playing on Penitent difficulty. My goal is to play on the harder difficulty levels. Now, I login to my account, my original character is on normal difficulty, and I cannot access ANY of the higher difficulty levels. Please help!!!
You went to Kyovashad, talked to the statue, and you can’t click on anything beyond Normal? All difficulties up to Penitent should be unlocked from level 1 on any character.
I could only access the first 2 difficulty levels with my first character.
I chose to skip the campaign, too - strange.
Yes that changed when the expansion and the 2.0 patch came out last night. All difficulties have been reworked.
We no longer have World Tiers. We have 8 different difficulties now. 4 of them are accessible from level 1, which are Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitent. Once you reach level 60 and complete a Tier 20 Pit you then unlock Torment 1. Every 15 Pit tiers after 20 you will unlock another Torment level up until Tier 65 Pit which unlocks the final difficulty of Torment 4.
Just logged on to check, and expert and penitent are now also available to me. I think the latter two just weren’t available until I entered the game on campaign skip.

Thanks. Should all difficulties up to Penitent be available on all characters after beating the campaign with one character? I can now access Penitent on my main character, but new characters still can’t?
