You want my money. I want to spend my money. Why do you make it so difficult and annoying?
How long has this game been out? I still have to sit through an animation of the shopkeeper spinning her cards every time I open the shop for the first time? Add to that I have to sit through a black loading screen any time I click on a new MTX. Are your coders from 1999?
Now let’s look at the actual MTX options. This is your money driving force right? How are the choices so limited after almost 2 years? And who the HELL thought limiting mtx by class was a good idea? I could go on and on about that, but to be brief: absolutely stupid choice… Maybe look at path of exile for some inspiration. When a really badass mtx can be used any time on any character I’m much more likely to buy it (or pay more for it…i mean look at poe prices and I still buy all that !@#$ lol)
Lastly, lets look at the decision to have mtx on a rotation. I logged on to buy something but now I see it’s not available and shop will refresh in 19 hours. Well…now I’m not spending money I would have spent. Cool.
TLDR: How can such a huge company with countless dollars and years of development, not to mention industry-leading competitors to get inspiration from, fail so horribly on the one aspect they drives their income??
It’s not. It’s residual income to justify the skeleton crew that creates “seasons”.
They work harder on each aspect of the game, including rigs/animations for each cosmetic, they seem to care about those details. But… MTX is GGG’s lifeblood. For D4 it’s not… it’s for padding the revenue sheets.
As for “low stock”… it’s possible they limit availability of previous designs to create scarcity. They learned that in business school. D4 is MMO-lite. Peacocks with vintage skins drive MTX sales (which, again, are pocket change to pay “season” devs salaries). It’s a weird system.
Anyway, have you ever listened to Rod talk about Diablo? Suuuper elucidating.
The reliquary claiming process is dreadful. I had a lot of tokens saved up because I never bother much with cosmetics, and it took me long minutes to unlock everything. With the old battlepass, I could just rapidly click through most of the horizontal bar and be done with it in no time. Now, every single unlock takes as much time as going through a few dozen unlocks with the old system. Terrible downgrade.
Well you’re not spending this time, but you will not wait the next time. And there will be next time since you got so angry about the one missed purchase that you came to forums to post about it.
Works like a charm.
Also the fact that first half of your post is spent on that it takes too long to get to the shop suggests that you’re frequently visiting it.
ikr? it’s pretty wild to see blizz L so hard so often on so many parts of game as if they dont understand what majority of the people like, appreciate and enjoy.
being reasonable with sense of the majority who are casuals must be rocket science for em
I don’t even like how long it takes to claim a free item. Can you imagine what it’s like for the credit card warriors that want to go in and buy everything? I agree with OP in that it seems like they actually don’t want you to spend money.
Real simple. It works well enough. The audience is global. Plenty of players with more money than brains to support it. When that declines break out the next marketing gimmick. Takes very little effort on their part to make it work.
it’s not just the shop devs it’s the whole darn company that’s dum af.
blizz stilll hasn’t restored deleted battle pass cosmetics from season 3. stop spending $ on these juice heads at the very least til they get their s#%! right. f-ing log out.
