Living Steel is a bottleneck

It has been said hundreds of times so let me just add one more to it:

  • Increase the Living Steel gain from 3 to 5 when you open a chest.

Helltide is already time gated. Adding further complications to farming Grigoire/Shard of Agony just feels bad.

Pretty much why I quit S2. I’m not doing time gated activity to farm mats to kill another boss, farm mats to kill another boss, then finally get to do Duriel a few times.

Duriel drops good loot, but the process of getting to him ins’t fun, and I roflstomp him anyway so what is the point of farming for uber uniques other than just to have them. I’d rather play other games until a patch or S3.

Yep cant do anything for another 30 minutes, might as well not play.

Ya it really ruins the Season end game.
I have like 40 Eggs, and 4 Shards.
Spending an entire hour to get 12 Steel for 2 Shards is lame.
They need another source outside of Helltides for Living Steel

Remove materials, thanks!

Honestly, all the mats should come from NMD. It’s the only “sensible” farmable mechanic in the game right now.

At least with 5 per HT run you can 2 Duriel summons ( Assuming you get a Shard Drop )

Yeah, it’s bizarre how you have to farm NMD to level paragons, then farm all this other random bologna in order to farm other stuff, then you can finally farm duriel.

Just make it so we can get everything from NMD’s. Helltides aren’t providing any unique mechanics anyway. You’re still just killing monsters to get items, but you have to wait on the game in order to do so.

It’s ridiculous.

Even if helltides was a 27/4 thing you still have to wait for chests to change locations every hour, its just not a farmable activity. Even if they had 20 chests every hour its still a boring mechanic consisting of running and or mount > find a pack > oneshot them > get back on your mount and run for 2 seconds > find another pack > repeat

Decouple living steel from helltides. Let us farm them as much as we want from the other bosses and NM dungeons (maybe over 75??).

Just feels trash having to do helltides.

See… i do them anyway. So i dont feel forced to do anything.

exactly why i stopped playing, im not gonna farm choretides, then farm another boss, to summon a boss to farm this boss.

What a terrible idea… this is.

It’s like the game is just designed to keep you doing chores for the sake of time metrics or something.

People like you are ruining the game,
Thx to people like you the game becomes very easy.

Could be nice if you could summon all the bosses without mats, but mats would give you the unique drop + uber unique drop rate increase.

I’m not 100% behind this, but I believe it’s an idea worth expanding upon/considering.

Would be nice if we get as many cinders from the chests equal to the uber uniques droprate. Like 0,0001 Cinders per chest. Niahahahahahaaaa :woman_elf:

I need more coffeeeeee. Must get cinders. Must have shiny things. :star_struck:

Or just lower the requirement to summon Grig to 1 living steel per summon.

Easier.

This is a better idea than you think. There’s an indie RPG called Ghostlore which totally does away with mats altogether. It is mad fun and you can play around with builds to your heart’s content.

That is how ARPGs should be designed, not all this timegating nonsense.

But that’s too difficulty for Corporate Cash Store Culture.

Nah.

Genre has grinding. There are going to be bottlenecks. If the grind isn’t fun, then there’s something else that’s more pertinent that needs addressing: itemization.

Go ahead and give the player super efficient living steel and they still won’t be as fulfilled as if our first improved itemization.

The genre doesn’t need to have grind.

Diablo 1 didn’t have a grind for mats, neither did Diablo 2. Torchlight didn’t have a mat grind, neither did Nox. Grinding mats is an MMO thing. It only was introduced after MMOs became popular.
