Let us temper at least 1 time on uniques

There are so many powerful and build defining tempers that it currently feels like every slot I use a unique is hurting me, especially as a Druid with the awful stats and almost no +health on our uniques. Certainly Blizz doesn’t intend for unique items to feel weaker than legendary items, right?

they said they are looking into uniques. i doubt we will see changes in s4, but just so you know that they got it on their list.

The tears would be salty and flow like rivers. But yeah idk about tempering on uniques but they do need a boost for viability and build diversity. This is where powercreep is setting in.

Let’s be honest, if you use an Uber even if it doesn’t have Tempering, it means the balance is relatively good for that one.

A “must be used” item often receives criticism for being necessary in 100% of builds.

tempering unique? Absolutely not. Unique stats are fixed. Just need to rework them. Unique item stats are 30% higher etc and remove useless stats.

Letting 1 temper go on uniques seems like a much easier and quicker fix than reworking every unique 1 at a time and I really don’t see how that hurts the balance of the game at all because right thow there simply is NO balance so anyone that has an argument based on balance seems not genuine to me.

What are the chances for triple crits on MW’ing ubers? Cuz if it’s quite low, then aren’t fully upgraded legacy ones better?

About 20-30% of uniques need another look (Esadora, Esu, e.t.c.), about 30% are quite useful (even in endgame, Cowl of Nameless, Godslayer, Paingorgers so GJ there), and about the rest (Gloves of Illuminator, Endless Rage, Lam’Essen ?), not quite sure :thinking:

Overall verdict IMO is there is room for improvement, sure, but definitely not Temper :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t want temper, but ability to re-roll one affix at the occultist. Not into a new affix, just to try and get a higher value. Maybe make it really expensive or something. I can’t count how many good uniques I’ve trashed that were overall quite good but one crucial stat rolled like dog poop.

they should make “unique” tempering for uniques.

5/5 legacy ones are 100% better than anything other than a 12/12 new one, AFAIK.

If Uniques become better than Legendaries then just remove Codex of Power from the game and we only use Uniques, because “Urr Durr Uber Uniques”.

How about just removing bricking? Let people pick the stat they want, and also let people pick the stat they want from enchanting, too.
Yknow, make the game fun and less RNG BS?

Yup. I mentioned this in another thread too.

Just give us a handful of different unique tempers. You have 1 affix from each, and can just apply that 1 affix to a unique. Reroll it to get a higher value if you want but otherwise no risk of bricking.

Best solution imo.

Sure. Lets make it so instead of a unique dropping, you get a unique voucher and just trade it in for a unique of our choosing.

Instead of tempering just let us pick the affix and give us the max roll while we’re at it cause let’s face it we’d eventually roll till we get it anyways, just give it to us and not have us face any RNG whatsoever.

We should also make gear drop as gear vouchers so we can pick the slot and the affixes too. I want 100% of the drops to be usable.

Yeah, I can see a world where even just a rework/increase of their stats (which would then push even higher with masterworking) could make them compelling enough that more uniques would be genuinely viable.

I personally like and have always liked the fact that there is a big trade-off to using a unique, and you’re really only (sometimes) choosing stuff that works exceptionally well with your build. The problem right now of course, is that where before it was maybe sometimes an interesting choice, now the uniques are clearly just massively inferior (on average) and not even worth considering.

Having said that, I still tend to have 1 unique on each of my characters, so even now there are choices which are impactful enough to be viable.

Enchanting to reroll an undesirable affix i can understand for Uniques. Gotta say NO to tempering additional stats onto them tho.

unique should comes with 6 fix affixes.

I dont think the devs really tested any of this because outside of a very few amount of uniques they were already fairly useless, tempering made them even more useless than they already were.

This game is a mess.
