Is there any reason why we cannot be offered these major updates in advance instead having the servers crash like the last time and before that as well, you think this is deliberate. Update then turn it on on the date specified no waiting. we know there are going to be patches regardless starting on day one.

Patches are typically worked on up until the last day. Or in Blizzards case Friday. Leaving Monday to do the final checks and balances, before the patch goes live the next day. No they don’t catch everything, typically why it’s best to never take off Tuesday for a new season patch.
Keep in mind this is not in defense of their practices involving patches just describing the process is all.

I’m not sure why they don’t use the same tech they use for WoW and Overwatch to pre-load the major assets a week in advance so you only have to download a smaller patch on patch day.
Yeah, I agree with the OP. There is really no reason to not make the majority of the patch available for pre-download…at least no reason that holds water.
The D4 team apparently just can’t get their act together. They probably moved everyone good to D5 development already.
