Lacerate could use a rework

The Friend of the Bog interaction with Lacerate that allowed you to move while channeling was fixed today. I had never even used lacerate before this season and didn’t realize the player is supposed to be stationary during channeling. Well, the fix bricked the build for everything besides 1 shotting bosses. This was a really fun and unique build, now it’s unplayable. The current lacerate functionality feels like an artifact from season 0 and 1 when the combat was much slower than it is today.

It completely bricked my build. I am pretty frustrated because I was actually having fun with it.

I posted to see what the best Druid build is this season without any posts. Well, Cataclyst seems to be done as it cannot use Decoy Augmentation anymore, Lacerate now seems to be done, so I guess that is why no one has responded to my post, simply there is no good druid build with all the recent changes :frowning:

It’s not done, but you have to be cognizant of where you use it. Definitely a nerf though.

Oh, and the moving during Lacerate isn’t new to this season. You could do it in prior seasons. The Friend of the Bog seemed to extend the distance though.

Honestly felt like Friend of the Bog made Lacerate feel fun to play. In world content, it feels terrible having to sit there or cancel the Lacerate.

Hoping they change Lacerate to allow you to move while in use.

I encountered all the same issues minutes after the patch, voiced it across a few Lacerate youtube videos, the patch unfortunately made this build unusable for world activities.
Since the “infinite damage glitches” over hyped hurricane, lacerate was pushed by the way side.

I have tested numbers in honesty and the damage difference was only a few 100m away, 1.3b to 1.02b from hurricane and lacerate respectively, with royal emeralds and critting on crit damage tempers it would have beaten hurricane in damage while hurricane would been best in range, useful for horde.

Lacerate’s movement would have made it a strong contender against hurricane easily as it makes up for the lack of range. Visually a better looking build too.

On a completely unrelated note, Voice of the stars giving witch tags to ultimate was an issue as well, i fixed that by unequipping all auras then equiping aura of misfortune then equiping all your witch powers, yet its buggy as it can be turned off during loading screens.

I had finally built my lacerate build the way I wanted and was having so much fun. Really stupid decision making from the dev team to do this.

is lacerate bugged / double dipping or am i just playing it wrong?

My normal tool tip shows 24 hits for 5,574,204 but as i’m running around buffs appear that seem to stay and i’ve notice the damage shoots up into the 60,000,000 range and melts stuff even T4 dungeon bosses.

I also notice on Grigoire that the first 2 times i could kill him no problem then i died and after that i couldn’t even move his health bar.

i still have a lot of griding to do. lacerate is down to 8.28 second CD but i’m having fun with my first attempt at lacerate

Miscellaneous

  • The change in Patch 2.1.1 that prevented movement while channeling the Druid’s Lacerate skill has been reverted.

Developer’s Note: We have heard feedback about how this change limited the desired functionality of Lacerate. The change has been reversed and we’re considering further improvements for Lacerate in the future.

Awesome, hope to play a shred/lacerate build one day. Glad thry reverted this and have plans to boost lacerate in the future.
