Concealment,Shaow clone, Caltrops(Frost) Frost Imbument, Invig strike and Barrage.
Innersight for Energy upkeep and Scoundrels leather procs.
You can swap out many skills as it’s basically based around clones and frost LH and Splintering Shards.
Concealment is optional and i am trialing the temper of damage on next skill after steath and so in the rotation it can be used to boost Shadow clone or barrage or imbument based on the timing you enjoy and what is easier. but any of those skills work well and double down in a sense on the related aspects or passive in the build.
This is not about being a T4 build or anything, just fun rotation and visual effects and class feel.
I have made many versions while leveling so it all started with investing in LH and Freeze and cold traits and skills etc to keep monsters frozen(cc)
So you can tap into those tempers early just use the search tags frost. frozen etc, and put something together to get a feel for the synergy in gearing for frost, then basically adding Shadow clones into it, to clone the skills and imbuements to double down on it.
Concealment is also replaceable, I just wanted the class feel and it can add damage and to a rotation play style.
Once it is geared for it, you can hit conceal, SC, Imbuement to stack the dmg bonus and then unleash barrage and caltrops which get cloned. You also use flickerstep with evade CD reduction to allow for faster Shadow clone usage. Before flicker step you can use the frosty strides or something like that.
Not going to go into extreme detail here, just giving you the bones of a build that is fun.
Current gear is based on Unique but if just swap those for something related to the skills until then, or spam the obol trader to get a unique idk that is what i did lol.
Nameless cowl for the LH , Scoundrels leather, Grasp of shadow, Leg pants with LHfreeze and in my case armor tempers and sharpshooters aspect. (this makes caltrops work with the grasps of shadow clone. )
Flicker step for Shadow clone CDR, however if evading through enemies is not something you want to upkeep, you can use the ultimate less, often and use penitent boots for more chill etc. or slot in something else.
Imitated Imbuments on the bow, coldclip dagger1 dagger 2 splintering shards. I like daggers for the attack speed since with Invig strike i want fast taps when i need a quick energy boost and LH chance proc, in harder fights with more elites.
Amulet i have true sight, and currently testing rings, so i have mothers Embrace for energy refund which increases the use of barrage even more, ontop of the inner sight procs. the other ring you have choices you can use a barrage aspect or corruption for imbuement potency. or tricky to add a decoy after using concealment. however the clones don’t really benefit so much since we jump into barraging and trapping so it rarely has time to be a effective clone tool, fun when leveling though.
Now, this is how i build, without worrying about the math so much and more on the skills, just remember though if you want to take it further into T3-T4, more attention to those stats is probably needed. I just prefer to keep it simple at first and make sure it plays fun first, I don’t care if it clears T4 if it’s boring to play.
ST put min points at first to follow the skills in the build, if using the unique you will have free points, I am not going to go into detail in the tree, so use the template an trait the ST and boards how you think works best.
The free passive skills from the cowl will point you in the right direction for the build espicially if you play with flicker step in mind, and rapid gambits. all of those passives in that area are good, and the ultimate ones, energy up keep and LH and critical strikes and all good imo to invest in for this build.
That is it , so far, sorry it’s not fully detailed etc, far too much to go into, however as a skeleton template i hope you enjoy this frost trapper clones build, its very fun has great aoe procs of death trap, and caltrops and having clones from shadow clone and grasps firing barrage and splintering shards against frozen monsters is a blast.
Good luck and i hope you enjoy this concept.
Disclaimer–this is not a how to play tutorial, just a gamer sharing what i find fun atm, for those struggling to find fun in D4 and to encourage you to not be intimidated to explore and find fun builds. even if they are not the strongest, meta combination.
So ignore that haters they will be triggered.
Edit- General tip for those perhaps overwelmed in D4, when it comes to building on your own, take your time, explore one piece at a time, You can do alot with a simple mechanic like Evade for example in D4, partially with rouge. It can use rapid gambits to daze, we can increase evade charges on boots to make it a weapon, as we can also use concussive strikes aspect to add to our build this way if we choose. (just one example)
The sub affix 's on boots and weapons are useful tools to having fun and shaping your character, for enjoyment.
