Hello,
I’ve been writing for a while now, and I recently broke past 585K words for the novel I’ve been working on.
Unfortunately, it’s notoriously difficult to contact the devs or their team and find out if I’m in any sort of trouble regarding the book’s IP since it’s based on the storyline and quests from the game.
To put it simply, I started a new character on the Eternal Realm, and I’ve been writing the story as I progress through the campaign and deal with Dungeons, World Events, Side Quests, Strongholds, and interactions with the people of the Sanctuary.
Now that I’m already at chapter 260, some people have been trying to add my book on Amazon to make a quick buck out of it, even if I kept everything free to read (since it’s a fanfic and I cannot monetize it).
Can anyone tell me how to get a definite answer if I should continue or stop? I enjoy writing, but I don’t want to end up with a court case because I didn’t pay enough attention to the IP requirements of Blizzard/Microsoft.
The name of the story is “Transmigrated into the Sanctuary!?” and I posted it for free on Webnovel and Royalroad, as well as added some free content about it on my Patreon page.
Please let me know what you think I should do.
