They sell for like 20k (if rare), you can get a full inventory of them in a few minutes if you pick them up.

Yup, and it gets only marginally better from lv 100 mobs. So what level are you, because it looks like 55-60.
Honestly we can cut it here, it’s clear that all proponents of high respect cost didn’t even touch end game, you are cutting branch under yourself but you will simply realize later. Have fun, enjoy this great game, however stop telling other people how they should enjoy theirs.
5868 per paragon point at lv 75, assuming 15% grow rate (it’s somewhere between 10-20% I will know exactly on next ding) would mean 176 544 gold per node at level 100. Meaning 39 722 000 millions on board alone in one direction, while your gold acquision rate between lv 70 and lv 95 barely changes. If it is 20% grow rate then that’s 511 609 per node, meaning 115 mils in single direction, 230 mills for “trying out” for board alone. Will confirm exact numbers later. For reference Ancestral IP 786 weapon sells for 20 419 gold.
Even if they would drop like rain drops then it would simply mean you will spend most of the time ferrying loot to Vendor and that would become main bottle neck. If you enjoy game because you pick up items, TP, sell and go back and want that to be 90% of your activity then suite yourself, but it is not helping this game at all.
Let’s build upon it, let’s assume average Ancestral sell value to be 22 500 (optimistic estimate - like don’t read it as “assumption” it’s my gift to you) you have 33 inventory slots. If you don’t have any gems, that’s 742 500 per vendor run of full ancestral items inventory. At 20% growth that would be 309 journeys to vendor and back to sell (meaning 618 loading screens) just to test out one damn Unique item. (realistically let’s say 280 because of some tiny irrelevant gold drops + some Unique that you will sell pushing average price possibly SLIGHTLY higher)
Respec costs should probably be increased by a factor 10. And it would still be too low.
It is certainly great that the cost scales toward lvl 100. It just isn’t nearly enough. Nor is lvl 100 everything. The cost should also feel meaningful before that.

stop being a fanboy- it just does not make sense to charge this much to reallocate points and not give us options to save templates.

The amount of what looks like employed trolls in chat is amazing and to be honest doesnt surprise me this game is HORRID ! The very lack of even 1 save point tells you a lot about these so called game makers as in they have no clue . Every time I need to go do anything and i am out in the world i lose ALL progress and end up restarting at the beginning . You have to understand these people have no idea how to make a game like this only how to MARKET a game like this so no you get NO normal tools and shut up your just a complainer.
I want to ask you is anything ever good enough for you? I can find flaws in everything if I look hard enough.

blizzard already said that respecs will be prohibitively expensive in order to dissuade people from changing specs willynilly.
all in all, its not what i am happy with, i didnt want respecs in the game at all, but its better than having them be free i guess.
