It would be cool to play hardcore mode

…were it not for the fact that I might die because battle.net has “stability issues”, or even power outages.

So, no hardcore mode for me. Think how much easier/more reliable this would be if there was an offline mode if nothing else?

Blizzard don’t care about hardcore or they would acknowledge the 3 second freezes and do something about it

I had 1 dc death in preseason.

No connection related deaths in s1 or s2 after lots of play. Got to 100 on my first chars (sorc and rogue respectively) and cleared NM100 on both.

I did live through a lot of lag spikes and some close calls though. Lag spikes are fairly survivable if you know what to do (and what not to do).

Connection issues are overrated / overblamed, though of course they exist. I play the game on a small island hundreds/thousands of miles away from US servers, with an average ping of 100-200 and frequent spikes much higher than that.

You’re the best well done insane gamer wow

I’m not the best but sorry you’re bad? Don’t know how else to reply to your “post”.
edit: just took a quick glance at your post history - yeah, sorry you’re bad and bitter. Try to take it easy.

If you don’t want to play hardcore that’s fine but connection fears are overblown as a reason to stay away. It can always be better but hardcore is certainly playable and enjoyable as it is.

Thanks for the rent free response giving me further validation

I encourage you to try HC. Just play a bit and see for yourself if it’s your cup of tea. My experience: It’s a constant adrenalin rush at big fights, and I personally feel more connection to my character, which is a good feeling for my roll-player casual type. I was afraid of hardcore, but tried it, and managed to do the campaign on first playtrough by just being cautious and patient. I never had a near death experience because of lag or rubberbanding. True, at the border of areas there is rubberbanding, but you can avoid getting into trouble there simply by paying attention and not rushing through these locations on a horse, instead let the game process a bit. It’s heavy graphics after all, there is much to process. The most common cause of HC deaths according to what I saw is that players try to rush their way trough HC like it was non-HC, but it’s not meant for that, of course they die. For example, I recommend to wait until you have all skills and at least one escape scroll and one avoid death potion before going into dungeons, otherwise you’re risking an early death by Mr. Butcher. I myself like playing every game in a way like it is HC, even if there is no HC option. I play like “would I risk this fight at this level if it was really me there?” It gives a new aspect to games. FYI, after completing the campaign, I died at level 72 because at an intense event-fight I clicked on the key bound to the shop instead of the health potion. So dumb  Since then I have a new HC character, higher level, and managed to kill the butcher several times on nightmare, go through helltides and legion events solo, and defeat Ashava with just one other player - now THAT was intense, and felt so good afterwards. I am a casual no-name non-professional player, and achieved this just by playing with temperance and patience, while enjoying the graphics and the atmosphere. It’s absolutely managable. And I no longer have any key bound to the shop, just to be sure. Let’s drink a beer and slay some ghouls in HC sometimes together!
