Is Sever shadow damage?

I’m making my own version of Sever / Minions (I tested and it can only do T1 but it’s tanky).

Is Sever Shadow Damage? It has the Darkness tag. Wondering about that cluster of darkness/ shadow talents.

Darkness skills are always shadow, shadow damage is not always darkness.

Darkness refers to a school of shadow skills not shadow damage. Therefore you can do shadow damage without it being tagged as darkness, but you cannot cast darkness skills without them being shadow.

Type of damage is shown at the right bottom corner of each skill. Usually Sever is Shadow damage unless other modifier applied.

Also don’t forget that Reap and Sever has instance damage(can crit and OP, are not affected by dot bonuses) all other shadow skills have DoT damage(can’t crit or OP).

Yes, Sever is Shadow damage and benefits from all the shadow-related talents.
