Is D4 just a better looking D3?

D3 season altar is amazing. Hope they make it permanent for non season. Funny that joe shely worked on d3 but none of the fun quick aspects transferred over??

That would be a blast, eventhough it kind of defeats the point of finding gear until you are around level 60 or so, but then again, is that such a big deal when the game is just so fun ?

Oh well. Haters. What do you expect?

Diablo 1 was the best during its time.

Diablo 2 was arguably the best during its time.

Diablo 3 was arguably the best during its time.

Diablo 4 is arguably the best right now. Why? Diablo 1 to Diablo 3 are all obsoletes.

Diablo 4 has its own game mechanics. It’s still a hack and slash using its new rules and methods. It’s not perfect but it is a very decent game.

At least I am still having fun. In time, I would get tired of it like how I got tired of Diablo 2 and 3. I would just quit by then and play something else. But for now, I am still having a blast. GG.

D3, after 12+ years, still a great game and fun to play. D4, after 1.5 months of play, is boring and I’m done with it for now unless they change the end game.

The color is what gets me.
D2 was very vibrant and even D3 had very strong greens and reds.
D4… is literally 50 shades of gray.

D4 is the only one designed to actually screw the player.

You can do that in D3 too.
Not on every torment level though, like you can not do that on hell in D2.
All these games have certain “best builds”.

Noone forces you to do haedrigs gift or the challenge dungeon.
But sure, biggest point to complain about D3 is that you can get “bis” items too fast.
On the other hand, you can have a lot of fun for 20-30 hours a season and move on to other games, until you wanna slay swathes of monsters again.

Imo basically the same as NMD and by no means as bad as endlessly doing baal-, mephi- and pindle-runs.

D3 is a mindless repetition of GRifts.

D4 is the same with the repetition of NM Dungeons.

Difference? You got pwned on D4 and on D3, you didnt. So D4 is bad becoz it slap’d your azz?

I find D4 more entertaining becoz it keeps on throwing punches the higher level you go. And those punches hit like a truck. I am still on it trying to fight back. And if I reach my Peak and still got pwned, so what? It’s not I get destroyed by mobs of my level. It’s understandable that mobs with ridiculous high level can destroy me. I had fun fighting back.

Relax, this is just a video game.

Like how I cant beat Pacman after 15 rounds. And hey, Mythic+ on WoW is infinite too. There would be a high key that would stop and pwn you no matter how godly you are. At least on D4, it stops on NM Tier 100.

Iirr back then that thing just could not drop for wizards. (i am quite sure i remember looking for it too, until reading somewhere that it does not drop for that class)
Was changed somewhen.

I am sure there was no intention to even make it, until the announcement desaster of D:i.
D4 has/does nothing really new which would justify to make a new Diablo game. Imo they just took concepts they already used for D:i, mixed some D3, D2, POE and lost arc into it and that is what we got ~5 years later.

Took the cover art and nothing else apparently :L

As long as you put together a competent build, any of the regular content in D3 is clearable with any build. It has the Legacy of Dreams gem or Legacy of Nightmares ring set that allow for ultimate flexibility in build design using random items.

I trust you’ve solo cleared GR150 in D3?

The actual difference is that D4 is a dull MMO, and D3 is a solid ARPG. I’m not even kidding you, I’ve never seen so many people saying a game is boring until D4 came out. I called it back in the March open “betas”. D4… the best sleep aid one can use.

Unlike this, D3 is a mature game with more classes and specs that I like and that work the way I want them too.

You might say I’m only here for the graphics. I wish this was d3 with better graphics!

That’s because there are no D3 skill trees present. Yes, you can put together more total builds since all skill combinations are allowed, but quantity does not equal quality. Those D3 skills have no performance depth since they all function the same once chosen, while D2/D2R and D4 have skill point quantities that determine how well those skills function.

D3 was built with simplicity in mind, while D2/D2R was on the extreme opposite end. D4 tries to be somewhere in the middle of both other titles.

Personal preference really.

There are classes and builds I don’t even want to try in D4. Not entirely true for D3. You can probably pick a class you hate and still find a build that is interesting enough for you to try. That isn’t the case for D4 but that is because of longer life cycle differences.

Wasted over 100 days looking for furnace! My friend was playing barb and found 3! And I thought playing vanilla wizard was bad! God I remember how garbage wizard was until it was like season 3 onwards with tal rashas.

Oh, I didn’t realize that collecting yellow items and slapping on the same Aspects for 90 levels is “complex”. I suppose playing the exact same build for all 100 levels is also “complex” eh?

better looking of graphic, but worse gameplay and builds diversity

D4 had skill trees for more complexity, but its itemization is the worst of the last 3 Diablo’s.

But there are points. Points that you put in according to the one build the internet knows is busted.

I started putting in the points the way I felt like it and was mostly able to get to wt3 before I started slowing down. It’s not a choice if all choices but a handful make the late game unplayable.
