Is D3 better than D4

What was the cliff hanger? Fist oh? Nah that’s not a cliffhanger. That’s just marketing.

D4 only has a very LONG campaign. longer than D1+D2+D3+DLCs.

The campaign - I mean the story - just lacks some Diablo vibes. In D3 the final boss is a total of all Prime Evil, but in D4 for the whole story we’re only defeating a boss like a chapter boss in D2 or D3.

It was not bad, but doesn’t feel as epic as in previous Diablo titles.

Wow,

Skill trees. So I can take a little longer to pick out the only good skills instead of choose them directly. With a sprinkling of pseudo-required passives.

I guess it does add more “content.”

I would be more excited if most of the skills weren’t garbage anyway.

In terms of content? Yes I’d say D3 in current form is better.

d3>d4 for all players. A “PLAYABLE” story. An end game. Loot that makes sense. Items that don’t rely on stats like 10% chance standing on your head, and 20%+ while eating a burrito and 50% extra chance while farting to do 2% more (X) Damage. Basically the same gameplay. The level scaling was done better. You could get loot that made a difference for alts. Boss encounters weren’t generic. Zones had an actual buildup to the story and an end. Diablo was in the game. No build, handicap or playstyle was out of reach of any player with enough time.

d2 is still the best in the series.

To be fair, D4’s only extra feature is the persistent open world. Other than that, D2/D2R seems to still be the best of the series so far. Superior gear and itemization, better classes and skill trees, Rune Words, etc.

The main drawback is the monetization by gold-farmers.

Where the hell is Diablo? lol

Yes, D3 is better than D4 but may be in 1 or 2 years D4 could be better

The open world actually worse than d2 because the mobs don’t randomize or the zone doesn’t randomize. You could walk from the rogue encampment to the end of act one.

The open world in d4 was so disappointing to me.

Better campaign/leveling experience. More interesting gear progression while leveling.

We’re comparing D3 today and D4 today, right?

  • D3 is doubtlessly easier and less frustrating, which is better for casuals.
  • It takes less time to gear up so you’re able to farm in D3, which is better for casuals.
  • It also takes less time to gear up so you’re able to play high tiers, which is also better for casuals.
  • You don’t even need a guide on affixes to play D3, which is even better for casuals.
  • D3 has cheat death.

And in D4, You feel it lacks endgame because

  • you keep doing the same thing? You actually do the same in D3 (rifts) but it was much more enjoyable than NMD.
  • You don’t get any upgrades except paragon points? It’s almost the same in D3, and the problem in D4 is you level up too slow. Isn’t it much better if you get to 100 sooner and can get improvements on gears?

D3 is trash but:
D3 at least has it’s own purpose - to be 20h game per year.

What’s the purpose of D4 excluding receiving money from MTX for Blizzard is unclear to me.

Yeah. I would always take randomized zones like D2 over what D4 is doing.

D2 randomization is pretty bad of course. But just talking about the concept.

D3 is a very fun game during seasons for a bit and the best part is you don’t have to dedicate 100’s of hours to it if you don’t want to.

Is it better tho? Imo D4 has more potential for more diverse builds that are going to be insanely fun that D3 could never have realized.

Open world means you can randomly encounter other players without choosing to be in their instance. D2, D2R, and D3 were instance based, so other players had to actively join your game to interact with you.

D1 thru D3’s random map generation did provide a lot of replay value since players had to explore to find the next area. Unfortunately teleportation trivialized this mechanic.

Of course. Honestly, ET for the Atari 2600 is better than D4.

nah it’s terrible. Please keep D3 things in D3.

D3 players all believe that the game is just starting at 100 level, in fact, in any other game it starts much earlier, and the maximum level is not the goal at all. The problem is that they wanted to do the same in d4, but they failed.

D2 is a great game, but honestly I enjoy the arcadey fast gameplay of 3 more. To each his own - both games are far, far better than Diajob 4.

I liked poe where you could just simply click the next zone and reroll the mobs. The elemental modifiers on mobs made it always a challenge.

The entire reason that randomization isnt in d4 wasn’t about the “Open World”. It was because it took a lot of time to program each of those random zones. D4 is about taking your money for as little effort as possible.

D3 post reaper of souls was much better than this. The way it handled seasons was also better. I would have much preferred GR 200 ( maybe with cutting numbers to make calculations easier) and controller support in D3 (i use both keyboard/mouse and controller in D4 and D2R) to the current D4 endgame and D4 seasons.
