Yes most are talking about the S8 boss powers
But still I got a s7 char I just finished the season journey and I have absolutely no reason to log in and play.
Why has Blizzard given up on any meaningful endgame content?
It has been almost 2 years after launch.

Endgame goals are the paragon 300 grind, the Sisyphean task of masterworking, and doing the pit.
They keep adding almost âtoy-likeâ things to do - like the pit, the gauntlet, the Undercity, infernal hordes, citadel. But these modes are never expanded upon. None of them have much depth, if any at all. All they really offer is some semblance of target farming.
Like we canât even get a single new modifier for infernal hordes. Why not? If they were truly different, with different maps, and different modifiers, and different monster spawns, and in depth kill chain mechanics (eg, see Grim Dawnâs crucible mode) it would be a great game mode. But as it is it feels like the most basic âMVPâ they could ship out the door to call done then itâs on to the next thing.
I think what a lot of is want is some kind of depth to this stuff. On top of this there could be an infernal horde skill tree, and doing it juices the hordes and modifies them to your preference, etc. Imaginationâs really the limit.
But no, you get some random sigil dropping and run the same zone, with the same modifiers, with the same mobs, with the same drops, with the same boss every time.

They are busy making the product released 2 years ago playable. At some point when they stop fixing past mistakes they can focus on other things.

I guess the aspirational or long-winded kind of endgame has no chance to fit in Diablo 4 with how things are going, as this type of content needs reliable balance first and foremost.
Itâs really unbelievable to me logging in, taking a couple of elixirs and then stand there and think for about 2min âbut really why am I clicking buttons in this game?â
Itâs sad because I just got a decent mythic unique and I have nowhere meaningful to use it. Not meaningful in terms of fun, not meaningful in terms of progression.
I feel every mob that I encounter is as relevant as if Iâm hitting the dummy in Kyovashad.

Happens to all of us, just takes time is all. Probably best to take a break for now, wait for changes. I donât think anyone should get to this level of boredom and force themselves to play. That just leads to burnout, and whenever you think about booting up the game again youâre reminded of this moment.
It sucks, but it does happen. Hopefully youâll find more enjoyment in another game. You never know until you get out there.

Thanks for that but the odd think is that I havenât open the game in about 2 weeks. Itâs not a matter of playing it too much and needing to take a break.
Itâs a matter of knowing thereâs nothing there to chase or no fun (repetitive) loop to engage with. Eventually all games are repetitive at some level but many aRPGs add modifiers to break the loop at least a little. At this stage I could do more Pits but once you have the glyphs where you want them itâs just too repetitive. Also doing hordes or helltides 100% knowing youâre getting no rewards or reasonble xp is almost an invite to not engage with these activities.
As expecting events is not reasonable, Diablo really needs some sort of repetitive (but not too repetitive) endgame that allow players to at least get something out of it in terms of fun or rewards.

Youâre asking for a lot here, as these games are all about repetition. Now I agree they could do more to break up the monotony of it all, but eventually you will fall into that pit of thinking, âwhy am I doing this?â
As games evolve, so do the expectations of those playing them. What once kept us entertained in the past, may no longer hold our interest today, especially when that formula is changed to make a game more streamlined so to speak. Essentially, we find ourselves less invested when a game tries to modernize an old system but does so in a way that makes it feel less engaging rather than more.
Also why I suggested the break and to wait for more changes to come, to see if itâll be anything youâre interested in coming back for. Of course this may never happen, you never know, all I can say right now, is that if the game has lead you to this point, itâs time to step away. Besides the forum is the true endgame anyway, so come join us and just randomly talk about stuff.

Yes the forums seem to be the true endgame indeed.
But Iâm not sure Iâm asking a lot really. Currently the Pit provide no rewards past you reach the glyph lvls you want, so even if they had a chance of getting mythics or something like linear accolades you complete where you get some reward at the end could be a hotfix. Thatâs literally something that mobile games do that at least give you an alternative motivation to chase something.
Same with the season powers. Once you get gems + powers that you want and max out their lvls, you wonât be gettig back to the green helltides. In their defense they did add a 3k reward cache once you complete the board, but still thereâs no meaningful reward inside of it. As tree of whispers caches were never really an endgame thing to chase, youâre just encouraged to stop doing them completely.
Even things like NMD are completely forgotten now. They were before launch the main selling point from their marketing department. Now they are something you skip completely throughout a season and never look back. They could at least rework them to make them relevent besides when there are some very specific events that you get benefits from clicking shrines.
These are just 3 very simple examples with TONS of room for improvement. Iâm not asking them to reinvent the game or to add a completely new endgame activity. But come on thereâs loads that can be done with what is already out there. Itâs just improving the current endgame from lazy to ok. Again, not much to ask really.

Thatâs not true.
You can set the dummy to fight back.

Oh 100% agree. Maybe the roadmap in April will shed some light on the subject. Sadly I wouldnât expect much though.
While I am looking forward to S8, I know itâs just more of the same with 1 added boss, and a slight tweak to how they all work. I doubt S9 will be much different, or S10 for that matter, but weâll see. Iâd love more in-depth endgame myself.

The issue thatâs been recognised before thee changes rolled out is t4 is too easy and some builds are overpowered. Both have been tuned. Pit is separate from that for obvious reasons.
There was no challenge, so thereâs no motivation try to improve the character⌠which sounds like what youâre experiencing. It will be better if thereâs some challenge to surviving and thriving in all of the t4 content including those you mentioned
See how it feels in s8.
