Im going to play the druid...17 DMG

Traps kinda suck. Id suggest shadow imbue and barrage, dash for movement, clone (drawing a blank for skill name) for ult, and… whatever else, but, to each their own. Traps fall off hard though.

If someone kicks you from a group for being non-meta, you probably didn’t want to play with those people anyway, or that’s generally my experience.

I mean you’re not wrong but if it happens to the point were you can’t play cause everything is about meta it becomes hard to find groups haha. I’ve been in situations like that a few times.

Eh, people say that about wow too though, but i’ve never had problems as non-meta in any role.

this is off topic but does anyone know how long seasons will be?

Pre-season is the perfect time to test it. No consequences for failure, and I can let other people test things out. Then I can have a fresh experience with the class I enjoy most during season 1.

3 months give or take

yeah, maybe not everyone has this issue, but I have been in enough wow guilds to know how the discussions go, and for some people not doing enough dps means they need to be in a meta role due to over complex rotations for casual players. But I am not here to bash wow, more like forget about wow xD. I am going to approach D4 completely different than I have with games in the past and see where it takes me.

I believe this is where the Diablo 4 Team’s slogan “Play how you want” is a thing. They are trying to break meta. We’ll see how this goes.

You can’t break meta, it will exist everywhere but a game where everything is exactly the same and you have no choice.

As I said we’ll see how it goes. Their intensions are clear. Plus you can break meta by making every possible build viable no matter what form of content you are doing. From grouping in dungeons/sigils/helltides/WB to doing all of that solo.

But that’s the thing, meta isn’t about viability.

Look at wow, every class can do a +20 or clear mythic, every spec is viable, but there’s still meta.

Meta is about that 1% more than the rest.

And that is the elitist way of saying play it this way or GTFO. What keeps games running are not the elite 1%. Especially if they make gold and buy game time with that gold.

The money is coming from the casuals. They are the audience this whole “Play the way you want” slogan is for. So this push for everyone to play 1 build is hot garbage. I’ll min/max my toon for one build and then I will probably make another to learn it before season start.

But meta to me is toxic.

Meta is just a tool, people are toxic

I agree totally. Being that I was once a HC EQ raider and raided with the best and been #1 WW on clears the atmosphere shifted to toxicity with grievance pulling and toxic troll chat.

For me im taking a break from meta gaming, your right people are toxic but meta is the tool that enables them to be toxic. I am going to approach D4 very differently than I have with mmorpgs. I want to be engulfed in the role playing aspect of the game and play what ever build i want.

You can get what you want not being in a meta build, atleast right now D4 appears that way and I plan on taking advantage of that. I hope people play D4 how they want and not how others say they should atleast in this game.

I am also “hoping” D4 helps me forget and move on from wow.

Probably not. Its not a mmo. Its an arpg with a FEW aspects taken from the mmo genre.

If you want to scratch a wow addiction with diablo, youre in for a rough time.

I think the game retail wow is today, it wont be that hard I do not have an itch for it right now. Plus i hardcore raid in everquest for that “itch”. I dont even recognize wow anymore.

Not saying your wrong but I will approach D4 different than a mmo to get the most out of it I can.

I used to be a hardcore min/maxer but eventually I realized that what I loved about games was theorycrafting and I ruined that the moment I started looking up guides. I have a lot more fun now experimenting and discovering what works best for me, I also slowed down and instead of mashing SKIP! take the time to soak in the story and the voice acting. I don’t burn out like I used to anymore.
