speculation of course, what would you do if there isnt an awesome one-shot build? =P
Jokes aside, people are going way too crazy over the changes right now.
How many of you have been saying d4 is boring? (not neccessarily directed at you personally btw), all im saying is that certain decisions are WAY overdue. Im not joking when i say d4 is close to be an idle afk game. I for sure hope there is more of a leveling and gearing curve now.
i cant play the ptr sadly as my ssd is rather limited and im way too much into MH wilds currently - but i update myself. I still like d4, but i hope that with these changes i can like it like i did in s0. (or close to).
The lair bosses are a lot tougher now and unlike S7 you don’t have any real power from the season until you can defeat a T1 Lair boss. They are the gatekeepers right now.
devs should prepare two game modes for torment 4:
one for elite gamer supremacists and
another for inclusivity, catering to less competent casual gamers.
if you are hardcore and enjoy dying over and over again, why not remove all loots from T4 and make it so that it takes 10 min just to kill 1 trash mob helltide to satisfy your craving for needing that challenge ? Since it should be aspirational content rather so getting more loot or loots at all shouldn’t matter ?
Balance to me is the #1 issue in D4 so I wholeheartedly agree with that. But I don’t really see threads complaining about balance as much as complaining about “gatekeeping”
The whole point of this thread is flexing telling whoever casual is defined by OP to play T1 to 3 with less rewards and be happy about it. So i turned around and asked why not remove all rewards in T4 to serve “True” aspirational content since these so called tryhards only wants to play for the “Challenge”
well i did get that, but in the end, a bigger challenge should equal a bigger reward. What im for tho, is that the seasonal journey should be absolutely accessible.
Uhh no lol. The point of the thread is to ask why tuning up the difficulty in T4 is such a problem when other tiers exist with the same rewards. If Blizz removed all the rewards from T4 and made it take 10 minutes to kill a mob you know what I would do?
1-60 is still fine. People are finding goblins and they drop legendaries reliably and you have the crafting mats to imprint dungeon aspects. 1-60 will be slower for many because currently the Apparitions just give boring main powers and without seasonal powers many more people will play on normal now.
1-60 is slower, not as fun (the combat has not changed) but I think we’ve had worse leveling seasons.
I’m really not overly concerned except that T1 bosses don’t present themselves as too big a gatekeeper and people quit. T4 is for the memes, and T3 is probably out of reach for many.
it is going to be slippery slope going down that pathway if not handled carefully . Do we really think many people will continue to play this game on lower torment level that they may not be able to achieve whatever glyph level, gears, mythics , and paragon level due to everything being so much slower, and drop rate reduced ?
Even in torment 4 now, I can barely get a good GA unique because RNG is at play, imagine doing the same farming in T1-3 where majority of the player might reside in Season 8. I haven’t even talked about tempers MW yet. Everything is much less efficient in torment 1-3 compare to 4.
You might end up with only 10% of the player base still playing this game… since that is the number blizzard wants to be in torment 4.
Good example - look at how many player currently playing PoE 2 now, 22K lol… it is not even top 25 on steam charts anymore. This could be D4 you know ?
its a solid point, but id say, yes. unpopular choices had to be done. I mean, we got so many people here who apparently quit every season, who didnt purchase d4.
what we can say for sure is that peeps tend to overreact easily here.
well, 90% might wander off to poe2, just to figure that the grass is anything but greener on the other side
yea, lets not have these weird number topics. we still dont know either amount of playerbase. pointless really ^^
What this number shows is the amount of players sticking around being the “Hardcore” group of players that enjoys the complexity, difficulty that game has to offer… What I meant is D4 could follow same fate . PoE 2 has well defined target audience so this shouldn’t be a surprise to GGG.
But blizzard, they want to target massive audience, unless this vision has changed all of a sudden, then what is the identity of this game now ? Following PoE 2 path ?
people who played blizzard games still have most likely purchased their game via bnet.
But why does it matter anyway? we arent shareholders, we are players. id love if wed stop having all these diablo doomsdays every 3 months ^^
the poe2 path? wait, the company thats 100% owned by tencent by now recently? yea… they for sure create games… “from gamers for gamers”. (lets be honest there really gaming changed, i dont assume you are a young one, but its about time to get this idea off. Big companies aim for profit. That includes blizzard, tencent, riot games, etc etc etc.)
I dont mind not playing T4 but locking seasonal rewards behind requirements of T4 was the issue. Based on them saying they did not want 50% of players on T4 only 10%.
No one is farming T4 Lair bosses like this. The difference in T3 vs T4 is astronomical. You’d maybe take a maxed build against a T4 boss just to say you did it, but no one is going to farm it willingly over T3.
understandable, and from a few threads here it seemed like others had similar issues, which is fine. as the other thread said, if t4 is supposed to be aspirational, make it aspirational. Sure, there should be some more rewards, but nothing that hinders you from finishing a season.
if one is super casual, i dont see an issue why said person couldnt be done with t3 for example. So people might want to min max, and thats where t4 comes in, ideally. lets wait and see ^^
that was the main prob. just like the season goal egg long ago with pvp zone in season journey… “no one has to play pvp” and then bam… content in season journey.
