diablo 2 was trash. The story sucked. The gameplay was SUPER slow, you spam 1 ability, you farm the same zone over and over. How can you possibly say diablo 2 was a good game.
oh and the botting. oh god, the botting.

Were you in a knights tale. Lol i love it
This game is terrible.
That doesn’t matter though. It’s not at lunch it’s now.
I think the amount of people that are enjoying the game is astronomical because you will always get a few that complain. We are seeing a lot that are complaining because the game is selling like crazy and everyone and their grandma is playing and enjoying the game.
It’s disingenuous to compare D4, a game that’s been out for a week, to games that have been out for a decade, especially when those games were in even worse states when they initially launched. The nature of live-service games enables those games to get better over time, so of course D3 is going to be better. Of course Path of Exile is going to be better.
That doesn’t really change the fact that D4 is still a really good game, though, and is already miles ahead than other games at their launch window.
Oh, that’s an easy one. Error 37.
Wait, I read that wrong, that was to say I did play at launch, without saying it >.<
IMO, it is a good quality game, with a bunch of terds stuck on the wall in their meeting room.
The game works great, even when people were over-reacting about limited downtime. There is a very good base, and yes, people are being hyperbolic, but at the same time, there is hyperbole on both sides.
It’s white knights vs doomers here.
If they removed half of the affixes on gear, and slightly increased player power vs scaling during leveling, the game would be like a 9
At level 48ish, I got wrecked by capstone Curator. Not the phase 1, but the skeleton curator phase 2. (that doesnt exist anymore from what I saw)
So I respec’ed to try a different style. It took me 2 days to get back to having a playable character. I could go into depth on what mistakes I made, but it wouldnt really matter. The white knights would just find a way to disregard it.
The point is, that shouldn’t happen. Exploring new ways to beat a boss should be fun, not punishing.
There are tons of little complaints here and there that WILL be fixed. Not that big of a deal. But for me, a game about building your character shouldn’t punish you for trying something new.
Wanna see a bad game? Go play Redfall.
You honestly can’t come to a public forum to tell strangers they’ve never played a bad game before can you? What’s wrong with you fanboi shills? You have no idea what these guys are playing to make that wildly off base assumption.
Is the game bad? There are massive issues with the game; network stability, frame rate drops, balancing, bullet sponge, mundane blandness to name a few. But, I’ll go so far as if you find a class and a build that suits your play the game might not be as bad as you thought.
It took me four rerolls and a druid finally to see the game is alright. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop negatively criticizing it after finding something that works.
If you think Diablo IV is a bad game, then the only thing I can surmise is that you have no context or understanding of what a bad game actually is. Either that, or you let your expectations run rampant with Diablo IV and were disappointed when they weren’t met.
Funny. When I go to the subreddit, I’m called a hater because I criticize Blizzard.
It isn’t that I have played a bad game, it is that I have actually played a good game. This is not a good game.
Are we really gatekeeping what can be called a bad game?
“OH YOU THINK THIS GAME IS BAD? WELL HAVE YOU PLAYED SUPERMAN 64?”
Shut up.
its disingenuous to compare diablo 4 on release to diablo 3 on release.
they are made by the same company and they should have learned lessons from diablo 3 release and diablo 3 expac. it should be the same team working on these games. did they binge drink so hard during d3 era that they didnt learn a single lesson? so now we have to compare d4 to d3 release? its inexcusable, reaper of souls was released in 2014, necro in 2017, they had plenty of time to learn from those experiences.
Are we really gatekeeping what can be called a bad game?
Sorry the truth hurts you. Go play some bad games and get back to me.
I’ve stared into the abyss of bad games and made it blink. You aren’t worthy.
It’s relative to the other ARPGs.
For me and for a lot of people I know, the most fun part of an ARPG is the endgame grind and in D4, it’s probably the worse part.
The game isn’t good. The really failed at class design and itemization. Combat, base talent trees, and the paragon board all require significant overhauls. Class design and itemization are 2 of the top 3 most important elements to an ARPG.
This game doesn’t offer hundreds of hours of replay value because class feel homogeneous to one another. Power scales the same way no matter which class you choose.
There is zero motivation to create another character and do it all again because it’s all the same the next time you do it.
Maybe D4 isnt a bad game, but it certainly isnt a good game either. And thats the problem, D4 is a big MEH all around currently.
It can be fixed, but it will be a long time before its good.
Playing D4 does not scratch that arpg loot hunting itch. I almost want to go play PD2 instead, at least its exciting finding loot there.
Its bad because of the immense expectations set
Whose fault is that? What did you expect - Blizzard to hold a PR event and confirm “The game is, you know, pretty good. Not great guys, but decent. Definitely above average!”?
