Tell us why it would be a good game. You’re making a generic statement because it’s trendy to do so, but don’t back up your claim with reasons why.
There would be less or almost no micro transactions, and even if there were, they wouldn’t be so absurdly priced.
Game would have less bugs cuz it would get more development time and not be released in the buggy, messy state that this game did, under the guise of live service when it’s just unfinished.
Game would be programmed a hell of a lot better and be properly optimized.
Also the game play wouldn’t be so manipulative, a lot of times I feel like this game just strings me along with the loot system.
lol microtransactions are optional. Who cares about the price?
If you’re upset about a $20 armor set, then don’t ever look at the prices for Core Supporter packs in Path of Exile. Some of them are $480 USD.
You don’t know the game would have less bugs if Activision wasn’t involved, that’s just a stupid thing to say.
Same with being programmed better and optimized.
All of these things are just talking points that you’re parroting.
(insert game X here) and use those same talking points.
How would the game pay for itself that way?
You’re basically saying that the game can’t really have any income beyond its initial box sales.
And then you’re saying that the hundreds upon hundreds of developers would spend even more time developing the game.
So you’re wishing for a scenario where the expenses of making Diablo IV would increase a lot, and where the income potential of Diablo IV would decrease a lot.
How would that be financially viable?
Seems to me they’ve given up on those strategy games completely. Starcraft franchise appears entirely abandoned.
Actually, this is a pretty simply conclusion to arrive at if you’ve played games Blizzard created before, and now after the acquisition. You can never ignore longterm player experience as evidence. My experience has been the same with Blizzard products. Pre-Activision, games felt cared for and intentional - they felt like they were a completed product once the player got their hands on it. Post-Activision games are consistently released feeling early or unfinished. And then I spend most of my gameplay reporting bugs through whatever system is available. I returned to WoW for the release of Dragonflight, and spent my first 7 hours in game reporting bugs. I refrained from reporting most of the bugs I found during my time playing D4 simply because I wanted to play the game, not live on the forums trying to report everything so they would eventually fix it.
You can’t say someone’s lived experience is stupid, especially when it lines up with most players that have also had that experience. That’s denialism.
Lol have u seen the last few games released by this company? What about Warcraft reforged?
There is a saying that goes, if the shoe fits you must wear it.
This is a pattern and it is not a recent one. The sole reason for this ms sale is because the company was on a major downward spiral and koticks washing his hands with it.
I don’t play warcraft games, and I friggin hate WOW. I played it to level 6 many years ago and uninstalled it. And I love MMORPG’s!
yeah its cool to hate on trash companies that seems to smoke crack when its developing a new game, blizzard made a freaking trash game, i dont want useless buffs to classes when my builds i fully optmized by the time i get to lvl 70, i want a freaking game to spent more than 15 hours to reach lvl 100, and end up having nothing to do for about 3 months, “but man chill out the game is new” its not a F#$# INDIE COMPANY blizzard has more than 300+ devs working in this bs, freaking titan quest has itemization that is better than this
Irrelevant, this company churns out unfinished products on a regular basis and you’d be a fool not to acknowledge this as fact.
You’d be quite the moron then if you knew this, acknowledged it as a fact, and still went and bought Diablo IV, wouldn’t you?
Yeah well i thought they had a little more respect for their flagship ip that’s been around for over 2 decades, guess not
I don’t know if they’ve completely abandoned Starcraft, the remaster was really good actually. The game is still one of the biggest and most influential games in esports history and still has massive influence in Korea.
I think we will see a Starcraft 3 eventually they’re just being overly careful because they want it to be well received in places like Korea which still views Brood War as the gold standard.
Really can’t see this being successful with current employees.
Well that’s all on you, isn’t it? Given all you’ve said and all you claim to know about Blizzard. If you still went ahead and bought the game you did a stupid, didn’t you? I mean, you’ve just outlined in this thread with strong conviction why Blizzard and Bobby are bad and why all their modern games are terrible and that there’s no good developers left and so on.
…And you still went and bought Diablo IV.
You’re an idiot.
Considering I couldn’t care less about the majority of the games they put out I pay no attention to them. And you’d be the fool to not acknowledge that.
Still it doesn’t mean that a different publishing company means zero bugs or optimized code. That’s just silly.
What kind of retarded argument is that?
Yeah, sure, Blizzard isn’t hated beause of their Incompetance, Idiocy or Greediness, but because someone just decided “it’s cool to hate them”.
I’ve put 400 hrs into the game and gotten exactly what I wanted out of it, it’s not a bad game for the box price and I’d say it’s worth the price of admission, unless your gpu gets bricked by the god awful optimization and piss poor programming. Also….this game is supposed to last for the next 10 years?! If this first season is any indication for things to come this service isn’t gona be live much longer haha
If it was made for Nintendo it would probably be a lot more fun.
The horse mechanic alone would probably be fixed and way more fun. Generators would probably build 3x more resource. You could probably craft any legendary (albiet not too easily). Uniques would all be awesome. Boss fights would all be very cool.
If you’ve put 400 hours into it and you don’t think it’s a bad game for the box price and you say it’s worth the price of admission, then you should have an internal discussion with yourself before you post a topic, because all your previous replies are basically sentiments to the contrary.
So again, I have no idea what your point is. You’re just doing some random arm-waving it seems.
You don’t like it, but you do. Blizzard is dead, but you had hope anyway. There are game-breaking bugs but you played for 400 hours. And so on. I mean c’mon…
