we already see the costume that can only be obtain from RAID,
and I bet there gonna be a ton of uniqle items lock with RAID.

I am for group play and solo play, but yes locking stuff behind cause some players just like playing solo is not a very good move.
Its either you group up or just get left behind.

I hope everyone who likes this sort of thing has fun - but it’s obvious this just isn’t the game for me anymore. I feel a strange sense of relief knowing I won’t be trying to keep up with D4.

I doubt anything of significance will be locked behind the co-op dungeon. It will be cosmetics. I dont think they said the scroll will only drop there. They never said that. I bet you can get it in the new undercity content which is soloable.

Every week you can earn a Weekly Rewards cache the first time the Dark Citadel is completed. These caches could grant you resplendent and exclusive items only offered from Dark Citadel.
Granted it could be just cosmetics, but ya know people have that FOMO . The re tempering scroll being one of them, though hasn’t fully been 100% confirmed I don’t think.
But yeah if it is then you can just say suck it up buttercup and go far for more gears to temper.

They do this in WoW too. Either you raid or you miss stuff. They even lock crafting behind raid progression now.

I seen some scrolls in there. One of them was summon a goblin while in a dungeon. Looks mostly like fun stuff, not required stuff. The new solo endgame content also has rewards like this though so I bet the retemper scroll is also in there.
Yeah, like i said it hasn’t been confirmed, so lets hope its the later of the fact it is in the solo content for those players. If not ouch.

Yeah I agree. I’m all for group content and plan to enjoy it but I’m not for something like retemper scrolls being locked behind it. I don’t think blizzard is stupid enough to do that. They even said that 80% of the players solo. I doubt the would screw people like that. I expect cosmetic like items.

That is completely fine.
But if they lock anything tied to progression behind forced coop I am saving my money.
I will be utterly done with Blizzard.
I don’t care if coop means more loot as long as I can get the same loot solo, even if it takes longer.

I will never play multiplayer again… Been burned way too often in the past in wow and eve online…
D4 already favors parties MASSIVELY and leaves solo players in the cold but if this gets worse I’ll say farewall to this 6/10 game instantly.

The one they showed looks similar to the ones you get from the preorders.
And if i wanted difficult boss fights I would not be playing D4 but yet Lilith exists.

This is what kind of worried me when d4 launched as they were trying to create this hybrid-mmo style of a game. I was going to write more but it turns into a rant and I don’t want to put the effort into this subject. To hear about this citadel or whatever, it was disappointing least to say.

Hopefully progression isn’t locked behind this, as this will only cause toxicity. Next you’ll see DPS meters, people getting kicked for lower dps, not playing the right class or build.

For the tempering scroll, during the Xbox stream today he started to say that the scroll was “only” then corrected himself to “the main way to get the scroll is in this dungeon”. So I expect it to show up other places.
I am primarily a SSF (I played the campaign through couch co-op on console with the wife because she wanted the story side of things) - and if there is one dungeon that I cannot play due to that, I can live with it. Heck because I don’t play co-op I’ve never beat uber Lilith, so I am already used to content I cannot get to because of the way I play.
