Ice armor up 100% of the time

I tried running that passive too, not enough to sustain blizzard at 27 mana cost and 2.1 or 2.4 attack speed(but I don’t have your lucky hit, barely 50% bonus, I’m glad to hear it is enough for ice shards) :frowning: I wish it was enough for blizzard too! I took those points out and put them into the one that gives mana when collecting crackling energy, sure I run around like a headless chicken but at least I have the mana to continue casting rather than always having to wait for teleport/fireshield to be off cd. I also tried gloves with 10% mana on lucky hit, but it’s so inconsistent I dislike it.

yeah, very mana intensive :frowning: currently I’m running fire shield, teleport, ice blades, firewall(cost 20), BL(cost 34), and blizzard(cost 27), switching in between the 3 mastery skills as I teleport around and keep a barrier up with enchanted evade and teleport and ice blades(even tho it is not a big barrier, it is refreshed often enough to feel it protect me enough)

I end up casting firewall more often than not, unless I’m casting BL and collecting energy, after a few stacked blizzards. I gave on trying to get ice armor up all the time altogether and am I am now using Ice blades for the additional albeit little reduced cooldowns it gives, conditionally… even tho ice armor would give 25% more mana regen, but if it’s not up 100% of the time… (YES I’m that fixated with consistency)

If mana was not a problem and I had a third enchantment slot for firebolt I’d swap out firewall for meteor, and give up 25% speed aspect for the meteor aspect, problem is meteor costs as much as blizzard and I can barely sustain taht already sooo also meteor will have to wait ^^

Agreed on consistency; its difficult to find sometimes on sorc and with itemization being what it is lol
Edit**
I want to note a difference in certain skills (and xfals) when you reach the 90%+ lucky hit threshold; they behave much more reliably and it can be surprising how effective they become.

I can perfectly see X’fal burst dmg very very often while killing medium/large packs of monsters(that’s part of the reason I love running x’fal and tal rasha rather than Blue Rose or a mana regen aspect, and that is, on top of the cdr which I miss very very badly since that large nerf patch shortly after launch) as long as you apply a dot right away, but even with the 90% lucky hit I tried a few times, on single target/bosses/dummy it is still kind of underwhelming, it might just be my perception but I can’t help thinking it is not worth investing heavily in lucky hit, when it competes with much more important affixes more often than not >.> to note, x’fal has a whooping 50% chance, almost all other lucky hit effects, particularly the mana regeneration ones, are in the 5%-20% range, abysmal. If only they were higher.
