I really hope D4 doesn't get complicted

Don’t care what most people think.

I tried path of exile when it released and I installed D2 LoD and uninstalled that other science game.
I played D3 and it was boring so I went back to D2 LoD and then suddenly D2R came out and it’s a wonderful game.

I just played a few hours of Last Epoch and honestly to me it is bad. I don’t like it.
While I don’t like D4 in it’s current state I like it more than Last Epoch and if someone disagrees I am totally fine with that it’s okay.

I just want a casual arpg without having to think to much and not being punished. Yeah I know that changing skills while leveling phase in LE isn’t a good idea because later on it’s easier to get skills back to max level. But that is something I still don’t like and never will like and I absolutely hate the crafting system.

I never was a fan of crafting. I am and always was a fan of rng like in D2. Finding a Maras, DF, Griffon, Ber, Jah, Jmod etc. is what gets me going. It was cool crafting a 20fcr 2 sorc circlet (if it ever happend…) but it wasn’t exciting (to me). I hated crafting in D2 as well so who am I.

I hope D4 VoH will be like D2 LoD. And no I won’t play D2R if I want that. I want D2R Open World MMO.

Keep buying d4 cosmetics and you’ll get exactly what you’re asking for.

Too bad… Loud minority here will report your post and get it hidden because you like D4 even slightly.

The blizzard hate train this month is ramping up thanks to asmonbaldo and other employee layoffs.

Its easy to hate the company but if anyone has been in big corp before they’d know why they do what they do. I just want to enjoy Diablo as I’ve quit WoW due to what the community has done to it. I don’t want to see Diablo ruined by the community. the devs are trying and all they seem to get as a thanks is threats and death wishes.

D2 is old. WE dont want the game like D2. WE want to expand and evolve.

You’re allowed to like it, the same as people are allowed to be very disappointed. Works both ways.

Except the people who dislike for reasons not related to the game contribute to the size of the people who dislike DUE to the gameplay combine into 1 big hate mob. Which blizz reacts to and make changes.

Such changes make the people who like the game how it is or the direction its going join the hate mob as well. Making a huge tumble on reputation and fun.

I keep hearing that people play D2 and yet the lobby is empty. D2 is a bad game that aged like Boons Farm “wine”. Nothing but bad nostalgia.

You are the worst type of player. With statements like yours this game will never be good. Good itemisation and crafting system are core of good arpg. PoE and LE are 100 times better now then D4. If you want to be casual and dont like difficulty in games definitly arpgs are not for you.

Blizzard in general is known for making games that appeal to the masses, the casual player base. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about it getting too complicated honestly. They’ll add more QoL over the years that will alleviate any complexity they might throw our way.

Granted it may take a while, but it’ll get here eventually.

Not entirely a true, a good game can have both, good thought out depth. But easily accessible for those who don’t want to go that route.

This is easy to solve.
Toggle switch in settings: Simple/Advanced
Simple does everything for you and hides the more overwhelming choices for some players.
Advanced reveals the full immersive depth and complexity of the game (not that it has any)
Everyone is happy.

You know we can have the best of both worlds and people like you AND the devs don’t understand that. You can keep it all exactly how it is and blizzard could just add in an extra world tier with tougher content and more in depth features like gems in paragon nodes or whatever.

I say every season we increase the world tier, gems, all of it, until the games life cycle is up a decade from now.

Personally, this is just an odd way to start a post, to me. If you don’t care what people think, then why communicate/post to them?

I can understand the underlying thoughts to your post. It is very pleasant to have a kind-of mindless ARPG to play.

On the other hand, several ARPGs can be kind of mindless depending on how much you are willing to invest in them and also, how much you have learned their dynamics. Something that seems complicated at first can become pretty mindless once you have engaged with it sufficiently.

D4 has some nice things and hopefully will build on them. Other ARPGs have other nice things.

You want a casual arpg with not much to think about, you definitely got that. Enjoy.

I’m pretty sure most people that play D2 are playing Project Diablo 2, which is a completely different game now.

Personally, I play D2R as a single player game. ./playersX is just too good of a feature to give up to have mu characters stored online for the slim advantages that gives. Now that I own a remote play device (Portal) I’ve only been playing D2R SP and my online characters will likely never be touched again.

You recover the skills pretty quickly even when leveling in LE. My Necro wen through 3 complete rebuilds while leveling and I recovered the skill tree power relatively quickly. As for crafting, that is 100% a personal preference. The fact you can craft uniques is a huge positive imo.

I wouldn’t worry about D4 getting complicated. As D3 and D4 thus far shows and extremely complicated system is what Diablo is attempting to avoid. They’ve pretty much said that the goal for Diablo is to be a game you can hop in and out of easily.

There are more aspects of “complication”

One is depth/branching-out, and the other is challenge, more specifically versatility of challenge

I feel the first one is overused (and could argue overrated) in a way, the second IMO is probably underexplored though

As it is - BOTH players and the devs are really occupied at making the former work and leave it to the “season designers” the latter

They’re designing the game to exclude a vast majority of the population. Clearly they’re making enough money of the black market transactions and the gold farmers. The regular players are no longer wanted here. Stop giving them your money.

Funny Diablo 3 is probably the best for what you ask.
