Well I just upgraded a unique ring and it gave me a random outcome.
I do not have the patch.
idk, try rebooting the bnet client entirely.
that said, you shouldn’t even be able to play if you don’t have the patch.
Rebooted battle.net and my PC, clicked ‘check for update’ at least 6x. Says it’s up to date.
I thought maybe they didn’t change the tooltip, they have done that before.
You will still get a random outcome with the new patch. That specific change (upgrade to the same unique) states it is coming with season 15.

Yes, that’s how it’s supposed to work.
Notice that the patch notes don’t mention guaranteed outcome for mythic upgrades.
One or more players mentioned that on the forums here; they lied or were mistaken.
Try equipping multuple ‘crafted’ mythics; if you can do that, GG, you got the patch!
Ahh true, okay well it also still has the ‘crafted’ tag on it.
Scratch that, they didn’t remove the crafted tag, just the limit of equipping only one.
It still has the crafted tag, that’s not changing. The change is that the restriction of being only able to equip 1 crafted mythic has been removed.
Now you can equip as many as you want. If there’s a limit, I didn’t hit it after I threw on 5 or 6. I figured that was enough of a test so I stopped there.
