I am actually having fun with the cube

Almost every day that I play I find a way to enhance my build even at 265 paragon. Before LoH, it would take weeks of grinding to find an item that would help. Now with the cube, almost all items can serve as the basis of a better gear.

And when you target a specific item, the cube is there to increase the chance of rapidly finding it, instead of relying on pure RNG.

I admit that it can be frustrating at time with the transfiguration feature, but on the other hand it can be very rewarding when you obtain a good affix.

Thanks Blizz.

you must be very lucky because I can’t buy a GA from the cube…..

i feel the same way. i find the cube to be immensely beneficial.

I think people’s impression of it is really impacted a lot by how they choose to engage with it. I take mid to decent gear and pull the lever to see if i can get something good out of it. I see it as a place that things that would normally be salvage or vendor trash, might get a chance to become something useful.

When it comes to rolling the dice on items that are actually already good, i have a few simple rules.

  • Don’t do it unless you have something equally good or better to use if/when it goes wrong
  • Only risk gear you have been using if/when you are replacing it with something better

I can fully understand the frustrations of people who feel like they must have the perfect affix or aspect on the perfect item. this would require insane amounts of farming and standing around at the cube endlessly trying to get a perfect roll, meanwhile sacrificing a lot of good gear that took forever to farm.

At the end of the day, players have a lot more agency than some seem to think they do.

I don’t know how you use the cube but I get quite often GA items from uniques for example. Beside 0GA with good affixes and good transf >>> 4GA with bad affixes and bad transf.

Please elaborate…can we modify affixse on Uniques? I thought just re-roll special power

You can make uniques from common items. You can also slap three of the same unique to make another identical unique to the three you just threw in. If the base items are Ancestral 900, they have a chance to roll with GA’s in the cube.

in s14 you will be able to modify affixes on uniques the same way as legendaries. afaik in s13 its only via getting lucky transfigure

That’s what I thought, so op is stating he gets a GA from the conversion, not modifying. Totally different

maybe hitting lucky trasfigure? or maybe he did it in PTR?

did you try to modify any affixes on uniques you had from s.13 in your stash on the PTR? did it allow you to?

Yea had no issues, on the PTR anyway. Couldn’t alter the iconic mythics if I remember. I can check my vods later.

I dig the cube a lot! Sometimes it’s fun to forge a magic weapon at the smith and see what kind of legendary you can make. (Obviously doesn’t work for ancestral)

Just now, I put 3 gohr with GA into the cube and got 0GA but 3 perfect multi(all, vuln, crit). This is what I mean by fun…

I gotcha, cool. I was really just referring to GA’s in specific as I literally spent an hour sitting at the cube trying for a GA while modifying a legendary. For me, only GA’s are upgrades.

fun? nope. crafting is never ever going to be fun. never.

useful yes. it very useful. not fun, never. don’t delude yourselves.

fighting monsters is fun. crafting? :face_vomiting:.

I had fun with The Cube the first 100 times or so

After about Cube Recipe #1000, I was tired
After #10,000, I was done

The Cube is exhausting. I dread using it daily.

This may come as a surprise, but people do not all experience the world exactly as you do. For some of us crafting and yes, gambling are fun!

kinda funny how the enjoyment differs between people.

I lost interest in cube crafting the minute i saw what it is all about, trying to craft the same item over and over and over in an unintuitive and clunky ui.
The first few item crafts is kinda fun, until you realize, thats the only thing u do with it, press the lever to the slotmachine until it fits ur blueprint.

guess its why some ppl like slotmachines and some dont.

i don’t like slot machines, but if i could deposit garbage and pull the lever (like you can with the cube) for a chance to get something valuable maybe i would :stuck_out_tongue:

And still if you played a build like immortal-barb in S13 you had the worst time of your life getting better crafted items than your basic non-ga set because if you need 3-4 offensive stats on an item you need very good luck to ever find an upgrade for your gear.

I hope there will be a solution for this in S14. People who need 4 stats from different pools (offense, defense, utility etc…) had an awesome time tinkering and rerolling with the cube.

This is a good example where you can clearly see that the devs just create stuff but they do not play the game to be aware of all the nonsense… erm i mean “features” they produce.
