Huge issue for Hardcore players: the Scroll of Escape drop rate has been reduced by ~20x

Hi, I’ve played on ptr for about 15 hours and have never seen a Scroll of Escape: neither at 1lvl, nor at 60lvl on Torment 4. Previously the frequency of scrolls was about 1pc per hour, so the complete absence of scrolls raises some questions for me

Hardcore scrolls of escape drop rate bugged

Pretty sure theres something very wrong wi the droprates of these? Last season drop rate was i would say at right spot Recently hit Paragon 200 on HC and got 0 scrolls in whole time. Same goes for everyone i ask in my clan and friends. Drop chances are insanely low i know 1 person that dropped 1 and thats it With the amount of bugs there is currently in game these should be droping more and not less … Pleas have a look into this and adjust to previous s5 which was in great state i would say

HC without Scroll of Escape is unplayable (disconnects and bugs)

I dont understand why Blizzard decides to nerf the SoE drop. I struggled in previous seasons with disconnections until the SoE was fixed. I stopped dying for disconnections or lag from Blizzard servers. Now with this low drop we are again screwed. I just lost my Lvl 60 character, I had lag, most probably from the server itself, and I exited the game. Of course when I returned my character was dead. Scrolls of Escape need to be more common

So, I didn’t mind that the scrolls were reduced initially, but twice now I’ve died to glitches against bosses, the most recent being the apparent bug with Varshan. These scrolls are required to get out of glitches and bugs in the game. Varshan became immune with the barrier bug that was reported a bit ago and unfortunately hasn’t been resolved yet and we were unaware of. Scroll of Escape is the most reliable way to survive lagspikes / disconnects / fenris error / etc. I see absolutely no reason to reduce the scroll droprate; for example, I’ve found four scrolls for 262 paragon (and I’m lucky relative to others), but I’ve experienced over a dozen lagspikes and Fenris errors in two weeks. Now I have zero scrolls of Escape. How am I supposed to survive subsequent software problems?

This droprate issue has a negative impact on ~99% of people on HC mode.

Since the patch notes didn’t say anything about droprate downgrade for Scroll of Escape, I really hope it’s still a bug AND we’ll see scrolls again someday. For example, I haven’t found a single scroll of escape in the last 20 hours of open world farming, whereas last season I found them on average once an hour.

This thing is either bugged for whatever reason (most likely) or incredibly stealth nerfed by like 90% which is totally unjustified if it isn’t at least tradeable.

I found only 1 this season so far (which saved me from 1 disconnect) and now I’m sweating that I can’t get my hands on another one. Never trying dark citadel without a scroll either.

They were fine before S6 (after the S2 nerf where they stopped being basically infinite and you had to be considerate when you used them). Now they are nerfed again to ridiculous levels being one of the rarest item in the game.

I would condone the reduced droprate to make hardcore more hardcore. However, the technical state and stability of the game has been the worst in a long time this season, and therefore this is absolutely not the right time to make this change.

Paragon 288 and i’ve only found 2 scrolls. Both have depleted from game crashes, and Ive lost a character to a game crash.

The disconnect protection works great, but it should not be tied to an item with the very poor drop rate that it has.

Either make the disconnect protection a standard feature or make Scroll of Escape a little more reliable to find.

I’ve been forcing myself to do NMD and Helltides in hopes of finding one even though the XP is very poor compared to Pit or Infernal Hordes. Pit and Infernal Hordes has no chance of dropping the scroll.
