How to make sets work

If they intend to add set items we need more slots, a couple solutions would be add a cube (preferably a combo of the d2 and d3 cube) but also give us bracers(utility, offensive aspects), belts(utility aspects), and shoulders (offensive, defensive), these 3 slots plus 3 from the cube would allow us to have sets and mythics and uniques whilst still having the aspects we need for our builds, the only problem is this would dilute the loot even more so this would have to come with buffs to that

The cube will probably be part of an expansion along with sets, but it wouldnt be too hard for them to give everyone the belt, bracers, and shoulder slot

These new slots would also allow us to gain full set bonuses, because with our current gear situation, 6 pc sets would need all your armor plus a jewelry or weapon, they will probably make most 4 pc sets, but the other 3 slots allow 6 pc sets to exist (we also need a ring of royal granduer)

These slots give spaces for new uniques and ubers too

I think they should bring back Kanai’s cube since they add new items every season. Notably they only added 1 unique per class this season if I recall correctly. Could this be because we are starting to get item bloat?

I would suggest adding set gems. Gems being for resistances is boring. They can have all res on them and a set bonus and when you get them all you get the super bonuses.

That would be interesting but i think most people want gear sets

Community is divided on sets. Some want sets like we had in D3, others want an entirely different type of ‘set’ system, and others don’t want them at all. Personally speaking I don’t want anything close to D3’s sets.

However if it was introduced as a charm system, and you had set charms in their own inventory space, with small utility buffs here of there, nothing outrageous, I think they could work. Would have to hash out the details though.

It will not surprise me at all if they make sets an Expansion #2 thing only type deal.

LE took an interesting approach to sets. You can either wear the set items or shatter them. After you shatter the set item you can then craft the set affix onto a normal item to receive the set bonus.

For now I’m good

I think Arcanas from S9 have a really nice potential to improve build-making without sending damage to the stratoshpere

Will see how things go long-term
