They have no excuse for another expansion because they screwed up VoH storyline what makes you think another expansion is going to clean up VoH. Instead of an expansion just add new characters that donât require a lousy storyline. VoH was the final nail in D4âs coffin they cannot recover from this
while i agree with you, the expansion story was lacking in many ways for me, it was far from being a nail in the coffin. this game is making so much
money right now that it will continue to be supported and expanded upon for years and years to come. i think 4 big story expansions and maybe 1-2 dlc featuring new classes in between.
I think that they will try going for as long as Sanctuary is not fully explorable.

Depends on the sales of VoH. It it was not good, then the current one could be the last one.
New game and expansion is expensive to make nowadays, game company is not obligated to release expansion for any game or the next version.

Mostly it will be dictated by volume of players playing the game actively, as with all Live Service games. And more importantly payingâŚfor cosmetics and expansions.
This game caters to a casual crowd, so as long as they remember that there should be some numbers to sustain it.
They do need to work out the stability issues as that works against them the most.
I donât think Concord planned to be online for 11 days eitherâŚbut it happened.
And look at VeilguardâŚthere will not be DLCâŚthe team is moving on to Mass Effect 5.

I like your ideas guys but me personally playing Diablo 4 i have a lots of fun! I wish to have few expensions as well not just Mephisto in Diablo 4

Id pleyed Diablo IIR and I wish to see all 3 brothers again!

My personal tip is one max two more DLCs.
Considering Andariel and Duriel dead until Diablo 5.
The next major threat is Mephisto, is main objectif is to bring back Baal and Diablo on Sanctuary.
Asmodan and Belial currently on reforming state. If we can considerer Belial a lesser version of Mephisto and Asmodan a lesser version of Baal. I really doubt we well see both of them soon.
However, the angels and Imperius can be a threat since Inarius is down.
If you project Diablo 4âs peak life of 6 years, we will get Diablo in the game in 2030.
Still working on the Beta atm.
For my own speculations the next Area will be Westmarch or Khanduras.
Aranoch can be next then the Dreadlands.
Xiansai and Skovos can be a part of a expansion but probably with Belial or Asmodan.
If I had to guess, we will probably be chasing after Mephisto as he awakens his brothers, like we chased after Diablo in D2.
Actually, the more interesting question is how long till the next expansion drops?

Hard to say. The development team fumbled the game in a number of ways and itâs just not very popular. The lack of QoL features like global chat has created a fractured player-base and has impeded creating a sense of community.
Class abilities feel weaker than in other games. Balance is still a problem. The story has annoying, wretched creatures like Nyrelle who are vastly unpopular (special shout-out to Vito, my fav), and I think people have largely just written this game off and given up on it.
How much money will Bliz pump into a title thatâs underperforming and hasnât been that well received? A bit perhaps so it doesnât seems like a failure, but I canât imagine there being much more beyond the 2nd expansion and x-number of seasons.
